After Demidov mucked, Alekhin turned over a pocket pair of queens for the whole table to see and the first Russian v. Russian 'battle' ended without bloodshed.
Both players show and they chop the pot.
Both players check down a board to the river, at which point Fischman bets 30,000. Alekhin makes the call and Fischman hesitates before turning over a pocket pair of fives. Much to Fischman's surprise, Alekhin mucks and Scott takes down the pot.
"That leaves threes and fours," joked Tournament Director Jack Effel.
"Value!" sung Fischman as he raked in his new chips.
Alekhin then makes a continuation bet of 56,000, which was enough for Sonnert, who laid down his hand, sending the pot to the man Phil Hellmuth dubbed, 'The Russian.'
