Juanda Has Nuts, Confirms Matusow

Totally nutty
Totally nutty
With John Juanda raising it up to 6,200 from middle position, Chris Moorman decided to bump it up to 22,000 from the small blind.

"How much do you have left?" inquired Juanda. Before a count had been completed, Juanda continued, "Oh, whatever, I'm all in."

With his face scrunched up in frustration, Moorman's reaction will have comforted Juanda, but Moorman called nonetheless and we had ourselves a showdown.

Moorman = {7-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Juanda = {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Considering their recent history, in which a battered and bruised Moorman had been pushed off a sequence of hands, Matusow echoed most people's thoughts by commenting, "Wow, John, I thought you had better than that."

With the board coming {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, a relieved Moorman saw his stack increase two-fold, whilst Matusow complimented a wounded Juanda by saying, "Well, if there's one thing we've learned, it's that Juanda hasn't lost his nuts."

After the hand, I spoke briefly to Moorman, who said that he wasn't going to reraise preflop and then fold. "Sevens was the worst that I was raising with there". Either way, Moorman is now back up near the 200,000 mark.
