First One to Speranza

On the first hand back from the dinner break, Gianluca Speranza increased his chip lead through Andrew Hinrichsen, who slipped into third place.

From the button, Speranza raised to 32,000. Hinrichsen called out of the big blind and the flop came down {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Hinrichsen checked, Speranza bet 28,000 and Hinrichsen called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Hinrichsen checked again. Speranza bet 46,000 and Hinrichsen made the call.

The river paired the board and put a fourth heart out there with the {2-Hearts} landing. Hinrichsen checked and Speranza took a minute to study. He then fired 156,000. Hinrichsen thought about it, but folded and Speranza won the pot.

Baguette Time

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We've got four levels in the books, and it's time for dinner. It'll be one hour, and play will resume at 7:15 P.M. CET.

Hinrichsen Advancing

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, we picked up the action on the turn of a {3-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds} board. Andrew Hinrichsen was first to speak, and he led out with 66,000 into a pot of about 90,000. Gianluca Speranza thought it over for a minute or so before making the call, and that led them to the final board card, the {9-Diamonds}. Hinrichsen wasn't slowing down now, and he put one one final bullet worth 120,000.

That sent Speranza deep into the think tank, and it would be several long minutes before he acted. When he did, it was, "Call," that he announced, and Hinrichsen couldn't wait to flip his cards over. He hastily tabled {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}, and Speranza let out a grimace as he sent his cards into the muck.

Hinrichsen is on the move now, working his stack up to about 775,000 with that pot.

Bernard Guigon - 4th Place

From the button, Bernard Guigon raised all in for 84,000. Gianluca Speranza asked for a count from the small blind and then made the call. Tarcisio Bruno folded from the big blind and it was Guigon's {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} versus Speranza's {A-Spades}{2-Spades}.

No help came for the at-risk Guigon as the board finished {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades} and he was eliminated in fourth place.
