Comeback for Waxman

Matt Waxman (Day 1a)
Matt Waxman (Day 1a)

Matt Waxman began the day with 9,700, but more than doubled up on this hand that he relayed to us after the fact.

A player in early position raised to 1,800. Three players called and then Waxman called in the small blind for 1,400 more with 4,800 behind. The big blind also called and action went six ways to the flop.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and action checked around. The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Waxman moved all in for his last 4,800. The first preflop caller was the only player to make the call. Everyone else folded.

Waxman held the {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair of sixes, straight draw and flush draw. His opponent held a red {A-}{Q-}.

The river was the {2-Spades} and gave Waxman the winning flush.
