Sweet Dreams Are Made of These

Tommy Vedes
Tommy Vedes

Yoni Simeon Houri raised to 1,200 from under the gun and then Christopher Sly three-bet to 3,600 from the cutoff seat. Tommy Vedes called from the big blind and then Houri called as well.

The flop came down queen high with two diamonds, {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Vedes and Houri checked before Sly bet 4,200. Vedes made the call rather quickly and then Houri took some time. Houri's resulting decision was a check-raise to 11,000. Sly moved all in almost immediately for 35,300.

The shove had Houri covered and Vedes had both players well covered. He quickly called. Houri tanked for a little bit with 18,000 behind, but ended up folding and left Vedes to do battle with Sly. "I only have a pair of threes," said Sly. Low and behold, he was ahead.

Sly: {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Vedes: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and the river the {5-Diamonds}. With the river, Vedes made his diamond flush and busted Sly. He's now up to 150,000 in chips and crushing, humming "Sweet dreams are made of these," as he goes on.
