Hands #97-98: Toebbe Gets Pushed Around

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Hand #97: Thomas Hofmann raised to 225,000 in the small blind and Albert Hoekendijk three-bet to 700,000 in the big blind, which Hofmann called. On the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, Hofmann checked and Hoekendijk bet 410,000, which Hofmann called. The {4-Diamonds} turn was checked and Hofmann bet the {5-Spades} river for 775,000. Hoekendijk eventually folded the {A-Spades} face up.

Hand #98: Hoekendijk raised from the small blind and Johannes Loebbe raised to 300,000, Hoekendijk called. The {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop was checked through and Hoekendijk bet the {8-Spades} turn for 300,000, Toebbe called. As soon as the {J-Diamonds} fell on the river, Hoekendijk moved all in and Toebbe folded.

Ship it! Said the Viking

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Steven van Zadelhoff is continuing his viking tour after winning the WCOOP Main Event for $1.62 million. The beard and game are strong as van Zadelhoff takes on playing live at the WSOP-E main, then Punta Cana.

Hands #97-#102: On to the Second Break

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #97: Albert Hoekendijk received a walk and patted his right-hand neighbor Thomas Hofmann on the back.

Hand #98: Hofmann raised to 200,000 on the button and Johannes Toebbe defended. They checked it down on {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Toebbe had {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Hofmann flashed {A-}{8-}. Toebbe won with the better kicker.

Hand #99: Hoekendijk raised on the button and won the hand.

Abdelhakim Zoufri Eliminated in 4th Place (52,703)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Abdelhakim Zoufri
Abdelhakim Zoufri

Hand #96: Abdelhakim Zoufri open-shoved 1,400,000 on the button. Johannes Toebbe folded the small blind but Thomas Hofmann called directly in the big blind.

Abdelhakim Zoufri: {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Thomas Hofmann: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} was devastating for the start-of-the-day chipleader, who already got up from his seat. After the {Q-Hearts} on the turn, his fate was sealed, making the {8-Diamonds} on the river meaningless. Zoufri, who won a WSOP Circuit Event three months ago, just missed out on a WSOP gold bracelet and finished in 4th place for 52,703.

Hands #93-95: Toebbe Gets Some Back

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #93: Out of the small blind, Thomas Hofmann raised to 200,000 and Albert Hoekendijk three-bet to 580,000 in the big blind. "This might be a big one," Hoekendijk added and Hofmann called. On the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, Hofmann checked and folded to a bet of 450,000 by the Dutchman. "Good fold my friend," Hoekendijk said and flashed the {J-Spades}.

Hand #94: Johannes Toebbe made it 200,000 to go and Hofmann called on the button, as did Hoekendijk in the small blind. Abdelhakim Zoufri was eying the action with his short stack in the big blind and Toebbe said "your chance", Zoufri was having none of it and folded.

On the {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, Hoekendijk checked and subsequently folded to a bet of 200,000 by Toebbe and a call by Hofmann. The {9-Hearts} on the turn brought a bet of 575,000 by Toebbe and Hofmann reluctantly folded.

Hand #95: Zoufri limped in from the small blind and Toebbe moved all in. "That was my move, jhust raise," Zoufri grinned and sent his cards into the muck.

Hands #83-86: Hofmann and Hoekendijk Pull Away

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #83: Thomas Hofmann raised to 200,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #84: Abdelhakim Zoufri raised on the button and Hofmann called in the big blind. Both players checked down the board of {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Zoufri showed {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Hofmann chopped with the {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Hand #85: Johannes Toebbe raised to 160,000 on the button and was called by Hofmann in the small blind and Albert Hoekendijk in the big blind. The flop of {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} brought no betting action, Hofmann's bet of 210,000 on the {J-Diamonds} was then called by both opponents.

Hofmann cut out a bet of 565,000 on the {Q-Clubs} river and that forced two quick folds to award the pot to the Swiss.

Hand #86: Toebbe raised to 200,000 and Hoekendijk called in the small blind. The {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and {A-Spades} turn were checked. Hoekendijk made it 300,000 to go on the {8-Diamonds} river and Toebbe folded.
