Shalom Kadosh Takes The Chip Lead of Day 1e
Tonight Day 1e of Event #15: 550 Colossus No-Limit Hold'em ended with all 18 levels of play and Shalom Kadosh, representing Israel, is the absolute chip leader of the day, with 717,000 chips.
Kadosh has previously played on the European circuit and found some success. He closely follows the overall chipleader, Sergii Karpov, who bagged 732,000 on day 1c. Kadosh had a good run today and climbed among the top stacks during the last four levels. He eliminated two-time bracelet winner Robert Campbell close to the money when Campbell shoved for a stack around 90,000 with ace-queen while Kadosh held pocket queens.
Trailing him in the chip counts is german Jan Wieckenberg (449,000), who also cashed in the Mini-Main during this festival, and closing the podium in third place is Yossi Dayan (362,000).
Other notables making it through to Day 2 are Viktor Blom (324,000), Ondrej Lon (279,000) and Michal Mrakes (191,000). Daniel Negreanu made it to the money but felted in 23rd place for a min-cash of 796 against Aviv Tzarum.
With 171 entries, Day 1e was the busiest flight so first and 26 players were in the money at the end of the night. Its Mrakes who burst the bubble in a lucky hand versus Georges Shahade when his aces-two found an ace on the river to crack Shahades pocket kings.
Among those who made the money are Martin Gradl (17th- 918), Shmuel Nakash (20th-796), Mohamed Bounaim (21st-796), Ondrej Houra (24th- 796) and Mark Mueller (26th-796).
