Welcome back to Event #5: �2,500 8-Game Mix for the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe, the first-ever eight-game mix bracelet event since the WSOPE moved to King's Resort. The starting field of 71 players have been reduced to the final 26, who will be returning today to battle it out for the �75,426 first place prize and a WSOP gold bracelet.
Starting the day in the role of chipleader is four-time bracelet winner Jeff Madsen with a stack of 336,500. Madsen had a strong day and eliminated Philipp Zukernik and Marek Blasko on his way to the chip lead, both in Pot-Limit Omaha hands. Following Madsen is Sweden's wonder-kid Viktor Blom who bagged 302,000 chips after the first day, where he was chipping up from the beginning and went all the way to finish second in the chipcounts.
Another four-time bracelet winner, Eli Elezra, is rounding up the top three with 252,000. A star-studded field, consists of many big names such as Phil Hellmuth (145,000), Daniel Negreanu (84,500), number one in the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year race Robert Campbell (45,500), and Jeff Lisandro (44,500).
Day 2 begins at 3 p.m. local time and more than half of the 26 remaining players will leave the event empty-handed, since only eleven of them will secure a place into the money.
