The Kicker Plays For Kidas

Level 31 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Alexander Tkatschew raised to 650,000 with the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Josef Gulas Jr three-bet to 2,650,000 with the {a-Spades}{7-Spades}. The aggression paid off for Gulas Jr as Tkatschew opted to fold.

Athanasios Kidas then raised to 850,000 with the {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} to claim the blinds and big blind ante.

Up next, Johan Guilbert raised to 600,000 with the {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Kidas defended the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} out of the big blind. The {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was checked by Kidas and he then called Guilbert's min-bet. The {4-Spades} followed on the turn and Kidas checked once more, Guilbert checked back.

Kidas bet the {9-Hearts} river for 825,000 and Guilbert paid it off, then both laughed about the unintentional value bet. "I think he bluffed, that's why I called."

No Value for Kidas With a Straight

Level 30 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Johan Guilbert raised to 500,000 with the {k-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Josef Gulas Jr three-bet to 1,950,000 with the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} in the small blind to force a fold.

Soon after, Athanasios Kidas flat-called a Guilbert raise with the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Alexander Tkatschew came along with the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} out of the big blind. The {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop was checked to Guilbert, who min-bet his {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and was called by Kidas only.

After the {10-Hearts} turn, Kidas quickly checked and Guilbert checked once more. The {9-Hearts} river checked behind by Guilbert and Kidas smiled before he dragged in the pot.

Johan Guilbert

Josef Gulas Jr raised to 575,000 from the cutoff with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and it folded to the big blind, Johan Guilbert.

He raised to 1,875,000 with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} and Gulas Jr made it 4,250,000. Guilbert called and two players went to see a flop.

The flop opened {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Guilbert checked. Gulas Jr bet 2,750,000 and Guilbert shoved all-in for 8,250,000 for Gulas Jr to take considerable time but eventually make the call. Guilbert was way ahead but at risk and needed to avoid two kings that were left in the deck.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river the {q-Spades} and Guilbert doubled through Gulas Jr to take the chip lead.
