Mighty Quinn Do

Quinn Do
Quinn Do

Quinn Do won't be a name that too many locals are familiar with here at the Empire Casino, but with over $2.1 million in tournament winnings he's certainly somebody we should be taking note of.

35-years of age from Vietnam (now residing in Seattle, Washington), Do's breakout year was 2005 when he won a bracelet in a $2,000 no-limit hold'em WSOP event. A few years later, he picked up his biggest payday, finishing second to none other than Phil Ivey in the 2008 WPT L.A. Poker Classic for a mouth-watering $909,400.

Here in London, he's looking to add a WSOPE bracelet to go with his Vegas counterpart, and grab that non-US victory that has so far evaded him. Despite the presence of Antonio Esfandiari and Daniel Negreanu, Do's table has been quieter than a nun in a library of late, with everyone slipping on their game face and adopting the role of silent assassin.

At time of writing, Do has an impressive 145,000, some of which was sliced out of the stack of neighbour Bruno Fitoussi. With 10-15,000 already in the pot, the two players reached a flop pf {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} where Do check-called a bet of 5,500. Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn, before Do took it down with a bet of 11,000 on the {8-Clubs} river.

The very next hand, Do lapped up the blinds with a raise to 2,200, the small and big blind releasing their hand and allowing Do to take the pot uncontested.

It's clear that Do has come to play, and if his recent activity is anything to go by, his intention is to play an aggressive game.
