The 2010 PokerStars.net NPT Mohegan Sun $25,000 High-Roller Bounty Shootout took place Monday with 35 players taking to the felt for action. The format called for six tables to be in play, with five of them being played six handed and the other one five handed.

The field was jam-packed with some of the biggest names in poker. Those included were Team PokerStars Pros Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Marcello Del Grosso, Jason Mericer, Anh Van Nguyen and Greg Debora. Out of those seven team members that played, only Mercier will be moving on to the final table, having defeated Elijah Berg heads up to win his first round. Along with those names, players like Matt Glantz, Scott Seiver, Faraz Jaka and Sorel Mizzi showed up to play. Out of that bunch, only Jaka will be playing Tuesday at the final table.

The 2010 NAPT Venetian Main Event champion Tom Marchese was also in the field today, but only for about five minutes. Marchese was all in within a few hands of shuffle up and deal against local grinder Luis Vazquez. Marchese held the A?K?, but had run into the powerhouse that was Vazquezs A?A?. After the board was run out 10?4?2?J?3?, Marchese passed over the chips along with the $5,000 bounty chip and exited the tournament.

Also in attendance was the champion of the NAPT Venetian High Roller Bounty Shootout Ashton Griffin. He was defeated at the hands of Greg Dyer, who held A?8? to Griffins K?9? in all-in-preflop action. The final board read A?J?8?4?2? and there would be no back-to-back titles for Griffin.

Each bounty collected earned a player $5,000 and for winning the first table, the winner would receive $60,000. That is unless you were seated at Table 6 where it began with only five players. The winner of that table would take home $50,000. Heres a look at the six players that have moved on and will be playing at the final table on Tuesday, complete with their prize money won so far.

Shawn Buchanan - $80,000 ($60,000 for table; $20,000 in bounties)
Faraz Jaka - $75,000 ($60,000 for table; $15,000 in bounties)
Jason Mercier - $75,000 ($60,000 for table; $15,000 in bounties)
Sam Stein - $75,000 ($60,000 for table; $15,000 in bounties)
Luis Vazquez - $70,000 ($50,000 for table; $20,000 in bounties)
Matt Glantz - $70,000 ($60,000 for table; $10,000 in bounties)

Jaka appeared at the NAPT Venetian High Roller Bounty Shootout final table back in February and finished fifth. He took home $95,000 then and will be looking to do better this time around. Stein is coming off a second-place finish at the NSPT Venetian Main Event and continues to fare quite well along this tournament circuit.

Up for grabs tomorrow is a winner-take-all first-place prize of $350,000. The player who collects the most bounties will be awarded an entry into the next NAPT High Roller event, which has yet to be determined. Right now, Buchanan and Vazquez lead the way with four apiece. Vazquez earned his four from eliminating every other player at his table.
