World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris Day 3: Ostennson Leads Field into the Money 0001

It was a short Day 3 in Paris for theWorld Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris as play went from 48 to 25, with the final 27 all finishing in the money. Making the most of a day that was short on time and hands because of a long hand-for-hand session on the bubble, Jimmy Ostennson finished the day with 719,000.

Ostennson won a significant number of chips by eliminating Aussie Millions champion Tyron Krost. The board read J? 8? 6? 10? 5? and Krost had been set all-in by Ostennson for about 170,000. When Krost finally called, Ostensson showed him the A?K? for the nut flush. Then Krost mucked and tapped the table, saying he had pocket jacks for a set.

Theo Jorgensen also had a big day and was very active on the bubble and whittled the field to 27 by knocking out British pro Stuart Rutter. In an all-in preflop situation, Jorgensen, who had continually been raising on Rutter's immediate right, open-shoved with A? 5? but was called by Rutter who held 9? 9?. "Why are you getting up?" someone asked Rutter as he got up from the table and backed away.

When the flop came down Q? K? 6?, Rutter sighed "That's why," as the inconsequential turn and river came J? and 7?.

Also sitting pretty as play charges toward a final table are Arnaud Mattern, day 1 chip leaderFabrice Tuil, French super star Patrick Bruel, Steven van Zadelhoff, and Andrew Teng.

Play continues Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Aviation Club as the players will work down to a final table of eight. Follow all the coverage live right here at PokerNews .
