FTOPS XIX by the Numbers
Full Tilt Poker's FTOPS XIX concluded on Monday morning after a thrilling two weeks. In that period, several FTOPS records were broken, and others were downright shattered. Lets take a look at a few facts and figures that stood out.
116,901 total entrants - $39,599,432 total prize pool
Love or hate Multi-Entries, there is no denying why the numbers were so eye-popping this series.
Seven-Figure Scores
Player | Event | Prize |
---|---|---|
Blair "blur5f6" Hinkle | Main Event | $1,162,949.74 |
With three players remaining in the Main Event, Hinkle locked up the biggest individual prize in the history of the FTOPS. Holding the chip lead, as well as the edge in skill and experience, Hinkle wanted to continue playing. But when he proposed a guaranteed $1,150,000 for himself (a number he thought his opponents would scoff at), Hinkle was surprised at how quickly his terms were accepted. He threw in an extra $5,000 for the others to successfully work out their own terms, in the end guaranteeing himself $1,145,000. Although he did not win the jersey, his monster score stands alone in the FTOPS history books.
Six-Figure Scores (Top 10 out of 62)

Dan "WiLDmAn75" Buzgon | Main Event | $321,433.80 |
While "GIAMPP" officially won the most lucrative tournament in FTOPS history, the fact that Hinkle earned nearly $300,000 more and locked up seven figures more, perhaps overshadows the Italian's impressive feat. While many may question GIAMPP's deal-making decision, life-changing money does not present itself everyday. Any poker player would have been happy to pocket the $877,949.74 that GIAMPP earned for his victory.
