PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Begins Sunday
The 2013 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) kicks off on Sunday at PokerStars. WCOOP is the world��s premier online poker festival, and this year's edition promises to be the biggest and best yet. Running from Sept. 8 through Sept. 29, the 2013 WCOOP features 66 events and guarantees to award no less than $40 million in cash prizes. Last year��s WCOOP offered a similar guaranteed prize pool and ended up paying a staggering $55,522,590 instead!

Although each of the WCOOP events pay out a huge sum of money, it is the Main Event that everyone wants to win. This year's two-day $5,200 No-Limit Hold��em Main Event begins on Sept. 29, and features an $8 million guarantee �� $3 million more than last year. The first-place prize of the WCOOP Main Event will be at least $1.25 million.
Past winners of the Main Event include JC Tran, Carter King, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Tyson Marks, Thomas Pedersen, and who could forget last year��s champion Marat ��maratik�� Sharafutdinov, who famously said, ��I WONT MILLION�� during the final table deal negotiations.
Along with the WCOOP bracelets, PokerStars awards prizes to the top performers in the series. The top prize on this year��s leader board is a trophy, a 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure package, and 2014 Turbo Championship of Online Poker, Spring Championship of Online Poker, and WCOOP Main Event tickets, with a combined value of more than $33,000. The other players in the top 10 will receive TCOOP, SCOOP, and WCOOP tickets depending upon their specific finishing position.
