The Sunday Briefing: Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko Wins Event #1 of FTOPS XXV
It was a huge Sunday of poker on the virtual felt this week. At Full Tilt Poker , the 25th edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) kicked off with a $215 no-limit hold'em event. A field of 2,818 players created a $563,000 prize pool, and Russian poker pro Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko took it down for $91,729 following a heads-up deal with "ekziter."
Over at PokerStars , the WCOOP Challenge Series continued with three massive events, including the two-day $2,100 Main Event which attracted more than 1,600 players. David "WhooooKidd" Baker was the chip leader after Day 1, and the remaining 80 players returned on Monday to play for the $538,834 top prize.
The PokerStars Sunday Million was also a special two-day event this week, attracting 12,132 players for a $2.42 million prize pool. More than 150 players advanced to Monday's Day 2, including big stacks Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Matt "OffTh3Radar" Davenport . The eventual winner will pocket $337,517 later today.
