partypoker WPT National Cyprus �300K Guaranteed Main Event to Take Place Jan. 23-26
The partypoker World Poker Tour National Cyprus, a part of the WPT National Series, kicked off earlier this week at Noah��s Ark Deluxe Hotel & Casino. The series, which offers a slew of preliminary events with �1 million in guarantees, will culminate from Jan. 23-26 with a �2,000 buy-in �300,000 guarantee Main Event, a tournament the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will capture in full in our live blog.

Indeed, this marks the first time the WPT National has visited the Noah��s Ark Deluxe Hotel & Casino, which is a large holiday complex located in the Bafra Tourism Area near Famagusta Bay. In addition to great poker action, the large casino and spa complex, which covers 160,000 square meters including 1,600 square meters of beach, offers plenty of activities. For instance, those staying in the 280-room holiday village have access to their own outdoor pool and snack bar.

The WPT was in Cyprus back in September for the 2014 partypoker World Poker Tour Merit North Cyprus Classic Main Event, a tournament that attracted 404 entries and created a prize pool of $1,486,720. Russia's Alexander Lakhov won that tournament for $325,400, which was especially impressive as two months earlier he won the partypoker WPT National Merit Cyprus Main Event �C which attracted 248 entries and created a $631,120 prize pool �C for $124,161. Needless to say, Lakhov is a favorite when it comes to Cyrpus events.
