Golden Nugget, Las vegas

At the end of last week, we told you about one of the most happening events to come this summer Poker Night in America's $1,675 event at the Golden Nugget running June 3-7. While that's certainly one of the can't-miss events of the summer, there's plenty more on the schedule for The Grand Poker Series, too.

Of the 90-plus events on the schedule for the Grand Poker Series, nearly one-fifth of them are in formats other than no-limit hold'em. Here inside the PokerNews offices, that's something we can certainly applaud. Some of the different variants of poker include Omaha hi-low, pot-limit Omaha, razz, seven-card stud, 2-7 triple draw, and H.O.R.S.E. If you're looking to get away from the no-limit hold'em grind, or if you're looking to expand your poker repertoire without having to break the bank, the Nugget will be the spot.

But, if no-limit hold'em is your thing, we're not going to discourage you from heading over to the Golden Nugget. In fact, we're going to encourage it and hope you'll enjoy the fact that the Golden Nugget will be running a $20,000 guarantee nearly every day at 1 p.m. local time with an affordable $150 buy-in.

On June 10 and 11, a huge $100,000 guarantee event will see six starting flights play out. The buy-in? Just $150, making this one of the best bangs for your buck all summer long.

On June 29, a big $500,000 guarantee will begin, this time with a pricier $570 buy-in. Additional starting flights for this event will take place on June 30 and July 1.

The festival will also feature a special "Seniors Week" where you can find multiple seniors events, including a $10,000 buy-in Senior Super High Roller. That's right, it's a $10,000 buy-in seniors event. This one will be hosted by none other than "Oklahoma" Johnny Hale.

Circling back to the original event we told you about the Poker Night in America $1,675 tournament taking place June 3-7 it's important to note that this event has three starting flights, the third of which is on Sunday, June 5. Why does this matter? All of the Colossus flights will have wrapped up at the World Series of Poker, and unless you'd like to play a turbo bracelet event with 20-minute blind levels, then head over to fire into Day 1c of the Poker Night in America $1,675 event where blind levels will be a more player-friendly 40 minutes and players will begin with 30,000 in tournament chips.

With estimates putting this $1,675 tournament at 1,000 entries, the prize pool will certainly be a juicy one you won't want to miss. Click here to view the complete structure.

The Nugget is located in Downtown las Vegas and only a short nine-minute drive from the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, meaning you can hop back and forth with ease.

Players looking to attend the Grand Poker Series can also take advantage of special hotel room rates of $49 weekday and $79 weekend. To book your reservation, call 1-800-634-3454 and mention code "POKER16."
