On Wednesday 11 March, 2016, partypoker launched a celebrity poker challenge called The Big Bluff, as they attempt to prove that anyone can learn how to play and enjoy poker despite having no prior experience of the game.

Partypoker has drafted in four celebrities, all of whom have never played poker before, but are undergoing a crash course in poker from Simon Trumper in preparation for a special live final held during the Grand Prix Poker Tour Brighton festival where they will take on four partypoker qualifiers with the champion winning 5,000 for their chosen charity.

Actress Jorgie Porter, best known for her portrayal of Theresa McQueen in Hollyoakes, actress and model Melinda Messenger, four-time Superbike world champion Carl "Foggy" Fogarty, and powerhouse footballer Adebayo "The Beast" Akinfenwa are the quartet of poker novices hoping to learn enough about the game to win money for charity.

Group Head of partypoker Tom Waters said: "We're very excited to welcome our celebs to take part in The partypoker Big Bluff. Once they have been through the poker school on partypoker.com, there are plenty of ways for them to practise their new skills online. They could start with a fast paced game like Sit & Go Hero that is perfect for beginners, before building themselves up to play some of the bigger multi table tournaments that carry the juicy prize pools! This experience, when paired with plenty of advice from our mentors, should be more than enough to prepare our celebs them for The partypoker Big Bluff final!"

In addition to a crash course in poker from British legend Trumper, the celebrities are set to receive some training about keeping their cool under pressure and maintaining a poker face from partypoker ambassador and four-time world champion boxer Carl Froch, plus a specialist sports psychologist will help them progress from a fish to a shark.
