Bridges Roe is your newest Aussie Millions champion, winning Event #8, the AUD$1,150 No-limit Holdem Accumulator for AUD$160,725. Roe defeated a massive field of 721 entrants on his way to victory.

The final day of the event kicked off at 1 p.m. local time with 10 players set to battle it out for the final prize. Roe started the day ninth in chips, having only 503,000 compared to the 1.292 million that chip leader, Alex Givotovsky started the day with.

Givotovsky and Roes day, however, would not be determined by their starting chip stack as Givotovsky ran into a series of tough spots and was eliminated in ninth place, good for AUD$14,780. He was followed in eighth by Jim Andreadis, a Melbourne local, who has dozens of tournament cashes here at Crown over the last year. Jerry Wang followed in seventh, Gereon Sowa in sixth, and Kan Lin in fifth.

While noted online pro Stefan Jedlicka likely had the most final table experience compared to the final four, his experience would not lift him to the title. Jedlicka was eliminated in fourth place, good for AUD$47,075. Darwin Lai from China bust in third leaving way for a battle between Martin Ward and Roe for the top prize and the Anton Championship ring.

Both of the final two were in uncharted territory, as the largest score previously between the two of them was AUD$35,000 coming from Ward at the 2015 Aussie Millions. That would soon change though, as even though Ward finished second, he took home AUD$99,770 for his runner-up finish, a huge score.

Roe, on the other hand, will have a great story to tell the other regulars at Crown, with his Aussie Millions victory almost quadrupling his lifetime tournament earnings.

The 721 players that filled the Crown Entertainment complex highlights more growth at the Aussie Millions, as to-date all events but one have seen substantial year-on-year growth.
