The reduced buy-in to $530 from the usual $1,050 attracted 3,410 players, creating a prize pool of $1,722,050, way past the planned $1 million guaranteed from PokerStars. Out of the 3,410 that entered 2,660 were unique entries, while 750 were re-entries.

Day 2 of the event started with 104 players having already up $1,140 plus any additional bounties they racked up along the way. Romanias Adrian politm69 Ionescu managed to end the day as the chip leader with over 5.7M chips. Throughout the second day of play Ionescu managed to build up his chip stack giving him the chip lead heading into the final table when Brit Daryl DJG1989 Green was eliminated in 10th place for $5,462.

freddopizza delivered the first knockout of the final table when Powergolf check-called for their remaining stack on a board of A?6?4? while holding A?10?. freddopizza held 6?6? for a flopped set and freddopizza picked up a bounty worth over $4.5K. Powergolf earned $7,724 for the ninth place exit plus another $8,801 in bounties.

Ionescu ended up losing the chip lead at the final table when Finlands MaxErosAmore went on a heater and eliminated xueshe in eighth place ($10,924 + bounties) and Leo ISILDRooN Nordin in seventh place ($15,448 + bounties).

OverTheTop43 was the next player to leave when Ionescus A?K? won a flip over the Austrians 8?8? when an ace landed on the flop. The OverTheTop43 earned $21,847 along with some bounty money.

Yattago was the next to leave when they shoved A?9? and were called by messigoat10 holding Q?Q?. The flop gave messigoat10 a set when it was laid out as Q?10?8?. Yattago needed some help but could still make a straight to stay alive and move past the 5M chip mark. The turn and river were the 4? and 4?, providing no help for Yattago and eliminating them in fifth place for $30,897.

When four-handed play began MaxErosAmore held almost half the chips in place with 79.9M. But after losing the chip lead, as the stacks got close to even and the then declining a deal to lock up second place money, MaxErosAmore was eliminated in fourth place ($43,695 plus bounties) when they tangled with the chip leader messigoat10. MaxErosAmore shoved on the turn with the board reading A?10?6?5? and was called by messigoat10. MaxErosAmore was delivered the bad news when their A?3? was out kicked by the A?8? of messigoat10. The meaningless 2? was placed out to finish the board and bring the play to three-handed while giving messigoat10 a commanding chip lead.

freddopizza moved the tournament to heads-up play when they got into a blind on blind pot with Ionescu. freddopizza raised in the small blind and Ionescu shoved his remaining stack into the middle with A?J? and was snap-called by freddopizza who held A?Q?. The board bricked out and freddopizza eliminated Ionescu in third for $61,794 plus an additional $21,276 in bounties.

The heads-up battle saw both players take the chip lead at different points throughout. Eventually messigoat10 got the chip lead back and whittled freddopizza down to 16M in chips. After messigoat10 limped the button, freddopizza raised from the big blind to 2.1M chips. messigoat10 then shoved putting freddopizza at risk for their tournament life. freddopizza called and showed J?J? against the A?8? of messigoat10. messigoat10 took a commanding lead in the hand and had one hand grasping the title when the flop came A?2?2? to give themselves a pair of aces. The 10? on the turn didnt help freddopizza and the 5? completed the board and gave messigoat10 a lock on the hand and giving them the WCOOP title along with $123,590. freddopizza earned $87,390 plus bounties for the runner-up finish.
