Antti Halme Leads Last Two Tables in MPNPT Tallinn Main Event 0001

All 14 players who made it to the end of Day 2 in the MPN Poker Tour Tallinn Main Event can now consider themselves to have officially run deep. Last-longer prizes have been awarded, as well as the first cash from the huge 258,990 total prize pool for those finishing 62nd or higher; the stakes are rising with every step toward the final table.

A total of 534 entries in the MPNPT Tallinn 550 Main Event boosted the prize pool more than 100,000 over its guarantee; it has comfortably outstripped that of last years event, in which Ranno Sootla took top prize of 31,000 after besting a field of 338. Sunday's champion will take home the 2017 trophy and 50,000.

Sootla was not among those who made it to the money this time, although last years third place finisher Mantas Urbonas is still in the running with 692,000 chips C a stack that puts him in the middle of the Day 3 pack. He has already won entry to the Kings of Tallinn Main Event - for a second time - as the last Olybet qualifier standing in the Main Event. Meanwhile just two remain fighting to be crowned Last Longer King and win an MPNPT Morocco 2018 package: Sergey Luchishin and Aleksei Karev. To be part of the last-longer (sporting high-visibility yellow lanyards in the Main Event), players must have qualified online on Betsson, Bets10, Betsafe or NordicBet.

In the lead going into the final day is Finnish player Antti Halme, whose 2,602,000 stack is only approached by that of Davis Modans (2,361,000). The next highest stack belongs to the UKs Julie Whitworth, who ended her roller-coaster day at the tables on an upswing. Whitworth is an MPNPT regular, whos cashed four times before in MPNPT events. No one else tops a million chips, and it will be a hard-fought day indeed for the short stacks returning Sunday. Full overnight chip counts, a recap of the day and list of Main Event cashes so far can be found on the MPN Poker Tour blog.

Side events continue alongside the Main Event. The 110 MPNPT Estonia Poker Cup, entry to which online package winners could also boast, began Saturday with 237 entries; it will conclude today, awarding a total prize pool of 22,989.
