Day 2C of the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event saw 19 players return to action as a part of the 888poker 8-Team Competition.
Remember, there are seven teams of three C each comprised of a captain, wingman and an online qualifier Crepresenting countries like Spain, Canada, UK, Sweden, Russia, Brazil and Germany.
The team that amasses the most points throughout the Main Event will win a 2019 WSOP Main Event seat for each team member. Points are accumulated based on surviving each day of the tournament along with a bonus for finishing as the chip leader. In addition, the last team qualifier standing will win 100 points for their team.

Day 2C Action
Nine more players hit the rail on Day 2C including the entirety of Team Germany and Team Sweden, who now have no shot of winning the competition. In addition, Team Brazil is now captain less as 888poker Ambassador Vivian Vivi Saliba took her leave. That said, the Brazilians currently lead the competition with 130 points thanks to qualifier Pedro Correa (pictured alongside Bruna Unzueta) earning the Day 2C chip leader bonus.
For Team Spain, they lost wingman Fernando Pons, who busted with a set to a flush draw, as well as qualifier Javier Llorente. Meanwhile, Team Canada lost wingman Mike Leah meaning 888poker Ambassador Parker Tonka Talbot is the only one left for the team.
Roca de Torres: "Im happy right now because for a moment I was thinking I wasnt going to make it.
Leah lost a good chunk of his stack after the dinner break in Level 8 (500/1,000/100) when a player limped under the gun and he did the same. The players in the cutoff and on the button did the same before the small blind made it 7,000 to go. The UTG limper called and then Leah backshoved for 36,200.
Action folded back to the UTG player who called off for around 28,000 with ace-queen suited, which was flipping against Leahs two red aces. Unfortunately for the Canadian, the board ran out with kings and sevens on it meaning he was counterfeited. Leah was left with 8,800 after the hand but went bust a short time later.
On the flip side, 2017 WSOP Europe champ and Team Spain captain Marti Roca de Torres did some damage on Day 2C despite losing his two teammates. In Level 7 (400/800/100), the flop read A?Q?5? when Miles Kang check-called a bet from Roca de Torres. On the 4? turn, Kang check-called 3,800 and then checked for the third time on the 9? river.
Roca de Torres moved all in and Kang called off for his remaining 11,500. Roca de Torres rolled over the A?J?f or top pair and it was good as Kang simply chucked his cards to the muck.
Not especially, Roca de Torres responded when asked if he felt any pressure on being the last member of Team Spain standing. Its all on me, but Ill always be the best Spaniard.
He continued: Today was a tough day, tough table at the beginning. I was just trying to increase my stack with small pots, but when I was around 90K I lost a big pot against a very good player. Lucky for me I went from 25K up to 100K for tomorrow. Im happy right now because for a moment I was thinking I wasnt going to make it.
While she wasnt a part of the 8-Team competition, 888poker Ambassador Natalie Hof also exited on Day 2 after losing a flip holding pocket fours to the ace-king of Andrew Brown.
