Simon Higgins bagged second in chips after Day 1b of the Irish Open Online after finishing runner-up in the High Roller

After 831 players entered the first flight of the Irish Open Online Main Event on partypoker, the 1m guarantee was all but secured. But with a further 793 entrants on Day 1b, the guarantee looks set to more than double with two flights still remaining. The total number of entrants stands at 1,624.

There's an Irishman at the top of the counts after the second opening flight, with Vincent McNamee bagging 325,994 to be the only person over 300,000. In fact, the Irishman is almost 100,000 chips clear of second placed Simon Higgins, who finished as runner up in the 2,100 High Roller earlier in the festival.

A further 309 players advanced from Day 1b, bringing the total number of players through to Day 2 to 611.

There's still time to satellite into the Irish Open Main Event
