Day 1d of the $5,000 buy-in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Main Event concluded Sunday, September 18 on GGPoker. The fourth starting flight saw 115 more players navigate their way through to Day 2 of the Main Event, with Cyrpus' Angelos "Aggelaras17" Michael finishing the session as chip leader.

The fourth starting flight of the Main Event was the most attended Day 1 yet with 716 players taking to the virtual felt. This has boosted the overall entries to 2,529 with 384 of those advancing to the tournament's Day 2. Now, $12,012,750 of the $20 million guarantee has been collected but with four more Day 1's to go, it is heavily expected that the guarantee will be surpassed.

Day 1e gets underway later today at 6:30 p.m. UTC, with the remainder of the starting flights playing out throughout the rest of the week ahead of Day 2, which plays out on Monday, September 26.

Tardif and Greenwood Fall Late on Day 1d

Patrick "Egption" Tardif and Lucas Greenwood were just some of the notable names to hit the rail in the twilight moments of Day 1d. Greenwood, who has close to $5 million in total live earnings, ended the day the 117th place while GGPoker Twitch Squad member Tardif (116th) was Day 1d's final elimination. Other famous faces who also failed to go the distance included Benjamin Rolle, Vanessa "Niffler" Kade and Justin Bonomo.

The likes of Vicente Delgado (684,230), Chris Moorman (668,900) and Daniel Dvoress (453,484) will be present on Monday's Day 2 as they all managed to pilot a stack over the first hurdle.

As mentioned, Angelos "Aggelaras17" Michael ended the day with the largest stack while Pedro Madeira (897,452), Stefan Jedlicka (884,838), Adrian "BuckStopHere" Buckley (784,675) and Maksym "Rompo27" Loboda (713,960) all bagged big enough to finish inside the top ten chip counts.
