Tom Dwan

High-stakes crusher and poker icon Tom Dwan was unable to make it through Day 3 of the 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event, busting just before the dinner break.

Dwan entered the biggest Main Event ever on Day 2 and spun up his starting stack to 426,500 by the time the session ended. His table was selected for the live-streamed feature table on PokerGO, and he started today's action with his chip count heading in the right direction until a few pots didn't go his way.

Dwan Jams into Aces

On Level 13, with the blinds at 2,000/4,000/4,000, Dwan had a stack of 311,500 in front of him. He opened K?5? to 10,000 from early position and called when Brian Atchison three-bet to 25,000 with A?A?.

Dwan checked, and Atchison fired 55,000 into a pot of 60,000 on the J?10?3? flop. Dwan called, which brought in the 5? turn, which gave "durrr" bottom pair along with his flush draw.

Atchison sized up to 110,000 and quickly called when Dwan committed his remaining 231,000.

The 10? river completed the board and marked the end of Dwan's Main Event run.

Surprisingly, Dwan's last cash under the WSOP umbrella came all the way back in 2011, where he finished in 5th in the $10,000 HORSE Championship for $134,480. Luckily for him, there's just over a week left of the series, but whether Dwan hops into any of the remaining events is anyone's guess.
