Poker After Dark

Daniel Negreanu, Jason Koon, Maria Ho, Fedor Holz, and other top poker players will show off their skills in a reality-based Poker After Dark show called "Game of Gold."

The first episode in what appears to be a unique format airs Nov. 8 on the GGPoker YouTube channel. A couple years ago, the online poker giant obtained the rights to the iconic poker show, which is filmed inside the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Ever since Poker After Dark first aired on NBC late nights in 2007, the format has been either a one-table sit n' go or high-stakes cash game. But "Game of Gold" is different as it features 16 high-profile players competing in a game of poker with various challenges akin to a reality TV show.

The Future of Poker on TV?

The trailer (video below) might seem a bit confusing, but that's sort of the purpose. It leaves viewers curious to find out what the show's all about, making them more stoked to tune in come Nov. 8.

Negreanu, GG's lead ambassador, referred to the upcoming show as, "the coolest poker show I have ever done in my life." He ensured his X followers that they will "absolutely love this."

One thing is for sure and that is it would be tough to find a more star-studded cast of characters. Beyond the aforementioned superstars, Game of Gold's competitors include Dan "Jungleman" Cates, Kyna England, David Williams, Johan "YoH Viral" Guilbert, Charlie Carrel, Josh Arieh, and PokerNews streamer Lukas "RobinPoker" Robinson.

As has been the case ever since Poker After Dark first launched many moons ago, Ali Nejad will handle the hosting duties.

Negreanu's assessment of the new reality-based poker show is strong. If "KidPoker's" making such a bold statement, suffice to say this is a show worth checking out. New episodes will air weekly on the GGPoker YouTube channel. We'll all find out in a matter of days if it lives up to the hype. If the trailer is any indication of the show's quality, it's hard to imagine Game of Gold won't become must-see TV each week.

Unlimited Poker Content

Poker After Dark's upcoming program isn't the only major new poker show on the horizon. PokerStars is set to bring back its iconic Big Game show in 2024 for the first time in over a decade, with filming to begin at Resorts World in Las Vegas this month during the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) series.

There are plenty of options, all good ones, to watch poker these days. Between the upcoming intriguing PokerStars and GGPoker shows, Hustler Casino Live, Poker at the Lodge, High Stakes Poker and everything PokerGO has to offer, and various other live-streamed shows, there's certainly no shortage of digital content available for poker fans.
