Nauhria the Short Stack

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Amant Nauhria first won a big pot off Paul Gahan to see Gahan move down to around 250,000. However, now Gahan has doubled up through Nauhria to be up to 500,000 in chips, while Nauhria has see-sawed back to under 300,000.

Gahan was all in preflop holding {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} against Nauhrias {a-Spades}{4-Spades}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and once again chips were heading away from Nauhrias stack.

Nauhria Can't Win Any

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Amant Nauhria is starting to find himself in a bit of trouble.

After starting the day with a big chip lead, he is now down to just under 500,000.

The latest pot that went to Nauhria begin with Nathan Gubieski limping from under the gun. Nauhria was in the big blind and checked.

On the {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, Nauhria led for 30,000 and Gubieski called.

The turn was a {5-Clubs} and Nauhria led for 45,000. Gubieski again called and a {7-Spades} was dealt on the river.

This time both players checked and Nauhrias {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} went into the muck when Gubieski showed {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Cant win anything today, Nauhria sighed as he had a look at his chip stack.

Nicolas Oger Eliminated in 5th Place (NZ$26,625)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Nicolas Oger - 5th Place
Nicolas Oger - 5th Place

Five has become four but it took a massive cooler and a one-outer to do it!

It was a battle of the blinds with Nicolas Oger clashing with David Lim with all the chips in preflop. Oger held {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} but hed run into Lims {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The dealer spread the flop, and there it was, the ace from space on the {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop. Oger had taken the lead and Lim was looking for some sort of miracle. The {2-Hearts} turn card was a blank and Lim now had only one card in the deck or Oger would double through.

With the crowd leaning over the rail in anticipation, the dealer burned a card and then revealed the {k-Spades}!

The case king for the one-outer! The crowd roared in excitement as Oger had gone from jubilation to heartbreak in an instant. Hes out in 5th place for NZ$26,265 in prize money as Lim now has a stranglehold on this tournament with almost half the chips in play.

Gubieski Up Over a Million

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Nathan Gubieski has just taken down two handy pots to see his stack move over 1 million in chips.

First it was against David Lim on a {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board. Gubieski got Lim to fold on the river and picked up a 150,000 pot.

Then it was against Amant Nauhria on a {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board. We picked up the action on the river, with Nauhria leading out for 50,000 into a pot of around 150,000. Gubieski called with {j-Spades}{8-Spades} and Nauhrias {10-}{8-} went into the muck.

Lim Crushing Way into Big Lead

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

David Lim has just taken a big pot off Amant Nauhria.
It started with Lim opening the hijack to 35,000. Nauhria three-bet to 55,000 from the cutoff and Nauhria made the call. On the {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, Lim check-called a bet of 70,000 and an {8-Spades} hit the turn. Lim check-called 105,000 here and an {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

This time both players checked.

King-high, said Nauhria as he tabled {k-}{10-}.

Lim snapped his {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} on the felt and took it down as Nauhria looked a little disappointed.

Lim now has a big chip lead over his opponents and even around double that of Nauhria.

Lim Leading

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

With newly-won chips in hand, Paul Gahan opened the button to 32,000 before David Lim three-bet another 55,000 on top from the big blind. Gahan thought for a bit before making the call in position to see a flop of {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Lim led out with a bet of 80,000 and Gahan again deliberated over the decision before making a frustrated fold. Lim gave a wry smile as he raked in the pot to further his chip lead. Hes up to 1.35 million in chips.

Gahan Moving Up

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Paul Gahan has just managed to double up versus Amant Nauhria.

It was on a {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop that all the chips went in.

Nauhria check-raised to 95,000 after Gahan bet 40,000. Back Gahan and he moved all in for 238,000. Nauhria made the call and Gahan was at risk.

Gahan: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Nauhria: {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Both players had a straight draw, but Gahan was well ahead as Nauhria called for a four.

The {7-Diamonds} turn was safe for Gahan, while the {k-Hearts} river meant he had doubled to around 550,000.

Nauhria is still going strong with a seven-figure stack, but for the first time at the final table he is no longer the chip leader.
