Everybody Loves a Miracle

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Eddy Liang
Eddy Liang

Devan Tang was among the shorter stacks before the restart of Day 2 and showed up one hour late to return with five big blinds into the action. Now he is up to more than 600,000 after getting it in preflop with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} of Eddy Liang. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and suddenly Tang is among the chip leaders while Liang quickly exited the tournament area.

Yung and Tang Double

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Percy Yung doubled up with {A-}{Q-} against the {A-}{J-} and Devan Tang scored a huge double up as well. He opened the action with a min-raise to 20,000 from the button and Kim Wittendorff called in the big blind. Both players checked the {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{K-Spades} flop before Wittendorff bet the {J-Clubs} turn for 20,000.

Tang made the call and snap-called the shove of his opponent on the {Q-Hearts} river for 127,000 with {J-Spades}{9-Spades}. The Dane was caught bluffing with {A-Spades}{6-Clubs} and dropped down in the counts.

Yung is Struggling

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Percy Yung gave up two pots in a row, to Jack Hu and Alberto Gomez, and then jammed all in for around 150,000 from under the gun. Yung Bing Chu made the call from two seats over for 77,000 with the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and won the flip against Yung's {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} on a board of {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Reina Gone Within Three Hands

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Guiseppe Reina
Guiseppe Reina

Guiseppe Reina opened to 21,000 from under the gun and was called by Eddy Liang before Kim Wittendorff tanked in the big blind and eventually moved all in with pocket sevens. Reina looked him up with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} but failed to improve.

Shortly after, Reina opened from the button and Thomas Ward called out of the small blind. The New Zealander check-called a bet of 25,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop before leading the {Q-Hearts} turn with a bet of 50,000. Reina called and folded the {10-Spades} river to the shove of his opponent. "Good fold," Ward said and revealed the cards to the Australian before then having to table it for everyone to see: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Last but not least, Reina then three-bet shoved his last eight big blinds with {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and initial raiser Wittendorff snap-called with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop was a disaster for the player at risk and it was all over after the {10-Clubs} fell on the turn.

Give it to Sun

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Yung Bing Chu opened to 22,000 and folded to a big three-bet of chip leader Sheng Sun from one seat over to get shown the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

One hand later, Sun opened to 22,000 and got called by Percy Yung and Alberto Gomez in the blinds. Everyone checked down the {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board and Yung's {A-}{8-} was good until Sun flipped over his {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

First Break on Day 2

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Scott Davies faced a slight over-bet by Guiseppe Reina on the river of a {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board and it was 90,000 to go. "You have to have a hand there, right?" Eventually the American mucked and then headed into the break, not before some small talk with his opponent though. Reina said he had pocket kings while Davies claimed to have hit "the queen on the turn."

All remaining 14 players are now in their first 10-minute break of the day, updated chip counts to come shortly.

Sun Puts Pressure on Chu

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Picking up the action on the {5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Spades} turn, Yung Bing Chu led for 46,000 out of the big blind and initial raiser Sheng Sun made the call from the under-the-gun position. The {K-Clubs} river was checked to Sun and his bet worth 96,000 represented almost two third of Chu's stack, avoiding a pricy showdown.
