Rockets For Chamma

Rodney Chamma is still at the top of the chip counts after another big clash to eliminate Dean McIver.

Chamma raised from middle position before McIver moved all in over the top from the cutoff. Chamma was more than happy to call, tabling his {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} to leave McIver's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} in a world of hurt.

The board fell {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and McIver is out with Chamma now up to 365,000.

Kelly Flops Belly-up

Aden Kelly was recently eliminated from the tournament by new big stack Brent Thomas.

The two got it all in before the flop with Thomas' {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} well ahead of Kelly's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Thomas' big slick reigned supreme to send Kelly to the rail in 99th place ($2,286 AUD).

JP Kelly Takes A Hit

JP Kelly has just taken a hit after a preflop race went against him. It was Kelly's {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} holding a narrow edge against his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} but the board was spread {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} to pair up the ace and leave Kelly with just 70,000 in chips.

Edmonds (during Day 1): in vouge after bursting the bubble
Edmonds (during Day 1): in vouge after bursting the bubble
It wasn't long after Karita's elimination that the bubble burst - we just managed to turn around to see Daniel Carter move his last 11,000 all in with {a-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Brendan Edmonds called him down with {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}; the board was spread {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and nobody had any idea that they were in the money until they saw Carter walking out the door with an Aussie Millions chip set as a consolation prize.

The applause went up through the room and play has resumed - the next 25 players to bust will receive $2,286 AUD.

Kaka for Kaczka

Shortly after shooting up to 220,000 in chips, Harrison Kaczka fell back down to 135,000 after a heads-up confrontation with Brendan Edmonds.

Edmonds opened the pot with a raise to 12,500 from under-the-gun and was called by Kaczka in middle position. The flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Edmonds fired a continuation bet of 14,000. Kaczka made the call.

The turn brought the {A-Hearts} and Edmonds fired again, this time making it 19,000 to go. Kaczka called again.

The last card off the deck was the {10-Clubs} and Edmonds tripled-barreled a 24,000 bet that prompted Kaczka to surrender.

Edmonds stacked up 165,000 in chips after the hand.

Karita Busts; We're On The Bubble!

We've just lost one more player to leave ourselves right on the money bubble. The 110th place finisher was Shoshiro Karita who was just eliminated in rather dramatic fashion.

Catching the action on the turn in a blind on blind battle with Beng Hooi Beh, the action checked to Karita who fired 25,800 at the {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} board. Beh thought for a long time before moving all in, covering his opponent.

It was then Karita's turn in the tank, and since all the other tables has already finished their hands during hand-for-hand play, a large crowd gathered around Karita as the suspense grew.

"Are there one or two players to go?" asked Karita of the floor staff.

"Two," came the reply.

"Ok, in that case I call!" declared Karita and tabled {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a double gutshot straight draw, as Beh was in front with his {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

The river was the {K-Hearts} and Karita was eliminated as we are now on the pure bubble of this event.

Boumadi - Booyah!

Having started the day with 86,600 in chips, Wissam Boumadi has managed to work his way through the pack and busted an opponent shortly before hand-for-hand play.

The money was all in the middle preflop; Boumadi's {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} was well ahead of the opponent's {a-?}{3-?} and Boumadi held all the way down the board of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The opponent had no heart and is probably feeling heartbroken - Boumadi on the other hand, is in cruise control, now on 305,000 in chips.
