Event 14: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Teams Event

Day 1 Completed

Congratulations Mel Judah & Mick Guttmann Champions of Event 14: Teams No Limit Hold'em ($30,520 AUD)

Congratulations Mel Judah & Mick Guttmann
Congratulations Mel Judah & Mick Guttmann
A big congratulations Mel Judah & Mick Guttmann, as the winning pair in the 2010 Teams Event here at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship.

Guttmann and Judah played a very patient game and employed aggression at the right time to bag the title.

As the day wore on Guttmann opened up moving all in three times in a row at one stage, and terrorizing his tables blinds. Not bad for someone regarded as a rock tight player.

As for Mel "Silver Fox" Judah, the guy continues to show why he is one of Australia's highest regarded poker players. His display today was first rate.

The runners up Carolyn Tulloch and John MacNaughton could just have easily had Aussie Millions rings fit on their own fingers had a few things gone differently. They certainly wouldn't have been out of place as the champions.

The heads up battle was a long one, and maybe even some of the old guard would have thought it was a little tight. But nonetheless we have a champion team and have awarded another Aussie Millions title.

The teams event proved particuarly popular this year with 107 teams coming to the felt and in just under 12 hours Crown have given away another $107,000 AUD of prize money. This series of tournaments is astounding.

Stay locked right here, we'll be back in about eight hours to bring you Main Event day three coverage. Until then goodbye!

Bizzare Huge Pot

That's about all that can be said here.

Carolyn Tulloch gifted Mel Judah with a double up to put the Judah & Guttmann team right back into the game.

The chips went in preflop with Judah holding {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} against Tulloch's {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}. This move was completely out of character for Tulloch who to this point has played a very nitty game.

The board blanked and the Judah & Guttmann team have their noses back out in front.

Tulloch & MacNaughton Look Likely

Tulloch & MacNaughton have Judah & Guttmann hovering around 100,000 in chips this could be over soon.

Although both sides are playing very conservatively with lots of limping and checking.

The rail has started to clear out.

No Big Moves

Amazingly the cards are yet to go on their backs in this heads up battle. Someone on the rail just rightly said, "If this was some kid from Sweden, the game would be over by now".

Could be in for a long night.

Lead Change

Carolyn Tulloch & John MacNaughton have now hit the front and continue to dominate the heads up battle.

Preflop, MacNaughton limped the button and Mick Guttmann checked. They both checked the {10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} flop. On the {4-Hearts} turn MacNaughton bet out 35,000 with Guttmann check calling.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Guttmann decided to lead out, and bet 60,000. MacNaughton came over the top all in and forced the fold from Guttmann.
