So Deep

The action is slow as the good structure has afforded even the shortest stack currently in the tournament well over 20 big blinds.

The hand for hand stuff is not helping proceedings either.

All 13 chip counts have been updated on the chip counts page, available to the right of the blog.

Neilson Doubles

Daniel Neilson is back in the frame at the top of the counts after doubling through Damon Lum.

Lum opened to 6,500 and was three-bet by Neilson on the button to 17,800. He called and they went heads up to the {5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop.

On the flop Lum check-raised all in and Neilson made the call for around 170,000 chips.

Neilson: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Lum: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The board completed {8-Hearts} and {A-Hearts} to move Neilson back to 348,000. He's in the top three.

Spilkin Spills Some Chips

Preflop, Damon Lum opened to 4,200, with Michael Spilkin popping it up to 10,000. Lum called. The flop came {A-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} both players checked. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Lum bet 10,000 which Spilkin called.

The river {8-Spades} saw Lum fire out 50,000 and Spilkin come over the top all in covering Lum. Lum called for the around 109,600 he had behind.

Lum: {k-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a straight.
Spilkin: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for trips.

Lum has 260,000. Spilkin is down to 83,000. We're hand for hand, pending two tables.

Approaching Two Tables

We're very nearly down to two tables with the recent eliminations of Eoin Kennedy and Vincent Van Der Fluit.

We caught Kennedy's elimination at the hand of Tony Dunst. Dunst had {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a flopped full book on the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop. While Kennedy had {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for flopped trips. Of course all the money went in, and Dunst maintained control with the turn {5-Clubs} and river {6-Hearts}.

Eoin Kennedy is eliminated in 15th place, while Vincent Van Der Fluit is out in 14th place. Both players earn $6,125 AUD.

Recent Eliminations

We've just lost two more players.

On a flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} Anton Bertilsson check-raised all in for around 50,500 over a 15,000 chip bet from Michael Spilkin. Spilkin called tabling {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to lead Bertilsson's {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The {9-Hearts} turn did look like overkill, but it was just as well because the river was the {A-Spades} which would have saved Bertilsson.

Anton Bertilsson is eliminated in 16th place because Jeff Ahmadi went out in 17th.

They both earn $6,125 AUD.

Margets A Chip Magnet

Preflop, Leo Margets opened to 5,100 from early position, and Michael Greco shoved from the small blind for 24,200.

Daniel Neilson was next act and he re-shoved for 300,000 covering Margets. She made the call and they tabled their cards three ways.

Greco: {A-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Neilson: {A-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Margets: {A-Spades}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

With that Margets stacked up 242,000 chips. Neilson drops to 191,000, and Michael Greco is eliminated in 18th place for $6,125 AUD.
