Neilson Nails Greco

Daniel Neilson has crippled Michael Greco. Greco made a great start to the morning before clashing with Neilson in a huge pot.

We got there at the river, on a {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} board. Neilson fired out 35,000 and Greco made the call. Neilson tabled {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for an Ace high flush, something apparently that Greco didn't want to see, because he mucked.

Neilson now has 296,000. Greco drops to 19,000.

Lunardi Looming Large

Tony Dunst will not be wanting to add more chips to Lunardi's stack
Tony Dunst will not be wanting to add more chips to Lunardi's stack
Kristian Lunardi has jumped out into the chip lead after playing a big pot against Tony Dunst.

We caught action on the river, with the board reading {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Lunardi had just fired out a 60,000 chip bet and Dunst was pondering the call.

In the end he opted to make the call, but mucked when Lunardi showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trips.

Lunardi moves up to 365,000 and drops Dunst to 122,000 in the process.

Robert Wang's Elimination

Robert Wang was eliminated after opening to 5,500 with Michael Spilkin calling with position. The flop came {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Spilken bet 11,000 which Wang check-raised all-in. Spilken called.

Spilken: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Wang: {A-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

All look good for Wang, and the turn {8-Diamonds} only left him feeling better about his hand. It wouldn't last though the {6-Clubs} spiked the river to make Spilken a full house and eliminated Wang.

The Rush Arrives

The rush of eliminations we expected, has arrived.

Benham Petros was eliminated in 22nd place.
Robert Wang went out in 21st place.
Mikel Johannsen was eliminated in 20th place.
While Tony Paino was the latest to go in 19th place.

All of these players earn $3,920 AUD.

Vincent Van Der Fluit Busy

Vincent Van Der Fluit has been a little busy in the early going. After boosting himself up to 155,000 not long ago, he's crashed back to 80,000.

The latest recipient of Van Der Fluit's chips was Benjamin Alacam, who doubled through.

Preflop Alacam opened the button to 4,000 and was three-bet by Van Def Fluit in the small blind. Alacam made the call for 10,000 more chips, and the flop came {9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Van Der Fluit fired out a 15,000 chip continuation bet and Alacam flat called with position.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Van Der Fluit decided to apply the pressure by setting Alacam all in. Alacam made the call with his {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and would be up against a fair number of outs for Van Def Fluit's {A-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

None of them got there, the {4-Clubs} arrived on the river to double Alacam through to 125,000.

Steckin' Up Chips

Preflop, Vincent Van Der Fluit opened to 3,600 with Mike Stecker flat-calling. Anton Bertilsson then really raised the stakes by moving all in for 34,500. Van Der Fluit called, and Stecker called for all of his 28,600 stack.

Van Der Fluit: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Stecker: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Bertilsson: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}, to ship a triple up to Stecker. He's back in business at around 85,000. Bertilsson now has the shortest stack in the tournament, with just 6,000 behind.

Linus Englund Eliminated in 24th Place ($3,920 AUD)

Linus Englund has become the first player eliminated today.

Englund opened to around 4,000 chips with Vincent Van Der Fluit pushing all in over the top, covering Englund.

Englund made the call for his stack with {A-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and found himself up against Van Der Fluit's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. He was unable to catch a piece of the {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} board and goes out in 24th place.

Van Der Fluit now has around 155,000 in chips.
