"Crazy" Zachary Busts to "King" Dan

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Action folded to Zachary Clark in the cutoff and he opened for 5,500. After the button folded, Dan Smith three-bet to 15,000 the small blind and the big folded. With action back on Clark, he assessed the situation and opted to move all in for right around 85,000, a four-bet shove that Smith called.

Smith: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Clark: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

It was a classic flip, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Smith was a slight 55.09% favorite while Clark had a 44.54% chance of surviving the hand. The {7-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop was of no consequence, and Smith became a 3-1 favorite.

The {9-Diamonds} turn further increased Smith's lead to 86.36%, which meant Clark needed either an ace, queen, or nine on the river to stay alive something that would happen just 13.64% of the time. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {8-Clubs}. Smith improved to a full house and Clark's $25,000 Challenge officially came to an end.

Mercier Rises; Juanda Eliminated

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

In the last hand of the last level at the table, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier doubled through five-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner John Juanda, leaving the latter crippled.

On the hand, action folded to Juanda on the button, and he raised to 4,200. Mercier called from the small blind, and Max Lehmanski called from the big blind. That brought about the {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, and Mercier and Lehmanski checked. Juanda bet 7,800, and only Mercier made the call. Lehmanski folded.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and Mercier checked again. Juanda slid out a bet of 15,500, and Mercier called. Then, the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Mercier checked, and Juanda bet 27,500. Mercier check-raised all in for 79,100. After a bit of time in the tank, Juanda stuck in the chips to make the call.

Mercier rolled over the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a rivered set of nines. Juanda mucked his hand, and Mercier scooped the pot to move over 200,000 in chips. Juanda was left with under 8,000.

Just two hands later, in the current level, Juanda moved all in from under the gun for 6,900. Mercier was next to act and reraised to 11,400. Action then folded to Scott Seiver in the big blind, and he moved all in for 65,200. After half a minute or so, Mercier folded his hand.

Seiver showed the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for another pair of nines that Juanda was up against. The at-risk Juanda showed the {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Juanda lost out to Seiver's set.

Shak Busts Hachem

Level 9 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dan Shak check-called a bet of 17,100 on the {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop from Joe Hachem to see the {3-Diamonds} land on the turn. Shak checked again, Hachem moved all in for approximately 18,000, and Shak called.

Shak held the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair and a flush draw. Hachem had the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} for an overpaid of aces.

The river was dealt the {2-Diamonds}, landing Shak with a diamond flush and winning him the hand. Hachem was eliminated, while Shak climbed to 230,000 in chips.
