Ko Climbs

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

In a limped pot battle of the blinds, Ilias Sagias led for 15,000 into an {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop.

Yuki Ko bumped it to 45,000 and Sagias called. The {8-Diamonds} turn got checked by both, but when the {3-Hearts} river fell and Sagias checked, Ko led out for 65,000.

Sagias tanked for two minutes and made the call, only to be shown Ko's {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades} full house. Sagias tossed his hand in the muck.

Costa Pushes Haidary All In

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Peter Costa looks over Mostafa Haidary
Peter Costa looks over Mostafa Haidary

Mostafa Haidary raised to 22,000 and Peter Costa called on the button to see a heads-up flop of {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Haidary continued for 35,000 and was called before firing a second bullet worth 60,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. Costa checked his stack carefully and then cut out a tower of T-5,000 chips for a raise to more than 160,000.

That was more than what Haidary had left behind and resulted in a fold from the start-of-the-day chip leader.

Chin On The River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Andrian Chin
Andrian Chin

Roger Swolf limped in and Ilias Sagias raised to 30,000. It folded to Andrian Chin and he pushed in for around 95,000 total.

Swolf folded, but Sagias made the call.

Sagias: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Chin: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board rolled out {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Chin made a straight on the river to crack aces, double up and avoid elimination.

Limped Pots; Chin Gets Short

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Ilias Sagias remains the most active player at the table. Twice in a row he opened to 23,000 and found a caller each. The first hand was against Peter Costa, who flat-called on the button. They checked down the flop {10-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Sagias then bet the {4-Hearts} turn for 37,000. Costa min-raised and enforced a fold, flashing {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a straight.

Then, Mostafa Haidary defended his big blind and check-folded to a continuation bet on the {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop.

A five-way limped pot followed, only Andrian Chin didn't get involved. The flop {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop got checked through and Haidary bet the {7-Spades} turn for 29,000, flipping over the {7-Clubs} when everyone had folded.

Chin limped in from under the gun and Yuki Ko called from the small blind. On the flop {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, Costa bet 20,000 and both opponents folded. The Brit flashed a super-wrap.

Costa Jams The River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

In a five-way limped pot Roger Swolf tried to raise after calling, thinking he was the big blind.

He took his bet back, but when it checked to him on the {8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, he put it back in, making it 30,000. Only Peter Costa called.

Costa check-called another 30,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, then jammed 125,000 on the {q-Spades} river. Swolf folded and cost showed the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Sagias Thriving; Haidary Shoving

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Ilias Sagias opened to 23,000 and Peter Costa called in the big blind. On the flop {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}, both players checked and did so again on the {10-Spades} turn. On the {Q-Clubs} river, Costa bet 10,000 and then called the raise to 38,000 by Sagias. "You got a straight?" Costa was asked before Sagias turned over his {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a straight. The Brit shook his head and tossed the cards into the muck.

Sagias also raised the next hand to 23,000 and Andrian Chin called in the big blind. After a flop of {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, both players checked and Chin check-folded the {8-Spades} turn to a delayed continuation bet.

Then, Mostafa Haidary, who was just enjoying a massage, potted to 35,000. Chip leader Roger Swolf called and bet the {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts} flop out of the big blind for 50,000. Haidary moved all in and Swolf mucked.

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

At the very end of the previous level, Yuki Ko made a bet of 35,000 on the {10-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop when Mostafa Haidary checked to him and was called. Haidary then led the {8-Clubs} turn for 50,000 only to fold to the shove of Ko.

Last but not least, Andrian Chin gave up a heads-up pot on the {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. Ilias Sagias had bet 35,000 and then showed the {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Below are the updated counts in the break.

Swolf Heats It Up Into The Break

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Roger Swolf
Roger Swolf

Roger Swolf has the lead and it continues to increase.

He just made tens and kings getting three streets of value out of start-of-day leader Mostafa Haidary. A little earlier he hit the jackpot, winning a 350,000-chip pot of Yuki Ko with {a-}{a-}{j-}{9-} on a {j-}{j-}{6-}{a-}{9-} board.

Heading into a 15-minute break that starts right now, Swolf is officially on fire.

Costa Chipping Up Further

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Peter Costa limped and Andrian Chin raised to 28,000 from the button, which Costa called. On the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} flop, Costa check-raised and Chin gave up the hand after putting in a continuation bet worth 32,000. Costa flashed two of his cards and grinned "you know I only play the nuts."

Shortly after, the 2003 Aussie Millions Main Event champion showed three cards on a te-high board with two clubs. The Brit held {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for middle pair and the second nut flush draw. "I don't want to be too predictable and play aces only," Costa joked.
