Panayotis Flourentzou Eliminated in 7th Place ($9,460)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Panayotis Flourentzoo
Panayotis Flourentzoo

On the three-way flop of {3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Panayotis Flourentzou checked out of the big blind and so did Mostafa Haidary. Ilias Sagias bet 37,000 and Flourentzou check-raised all in for a total of 130,000. Haidary folded and Sagias quickly called.

Flourentzou: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a pair of nines, flush draw and open-ended straight draw
Sagias: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives

Neither the {10-Clubs} turn nor the {5-Spades} river changed anything whatsoever for Flourentzou, it even gave Sagias quads to scoop the pot and sent his opponent to the rail in 7th place.

Paul Hoefer Eliminated in 8th Place ($5,005)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Paul Hoefer
Paul Hoefer

Paul Hoefer made it 17,000, Mostafa Haidary raised to 61,000 and after it folded to Peter Costa, he jammed in for 95,000.

Both players called and Hoefer jammed the {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop. Haidary snap-called.

Hoefer: {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Haidary: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Costa: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Costa won the main pot to triple up with aces and sixes. Haidary's tens and sixes with an ace kicker was good for the side and Hoefer was eliminated.

Costa Survives Another All In

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Ilias Sagias opened from the button and Peter Costa reraised the pot, putting himself at risk for the last 41,500 chips. Sagias made the call and had to dodge two over cards and hearts.

Sagias: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Spades}
Costa: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}

"Not as many spades there, eh?" Sagias said once he spotted the flop {6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}. The {A-Clubs} turn improved Costa and he even made a flush with the {7-Hearts} river to double up.

Flourentzou Doubles Through Chin

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The action folded around to Andrian Chin in the small blind and he potted to 24,000. Panayotis Flourentzou announced all in from one seat over and pushed his stack forward. The dealer did his duty and it was 78,000 in total for Chin to call, which Chin paid off eventually.

Flourentzou: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Chin: {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The flop {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} saw Chin pick up a few outs, as a nine, eight or five would improve his hand. However, the {6-Hearts} turn completed a straight for Flourentzou. Now Chin needed a nine or six for a full house, though the dealer burned and turned the {2-Spades} as last community card to keep Flourentzou in the tournament.

Jens Lakemeier Eliminated in 9th Place ($5,005)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Jens Lakemeier
Jens Lakemeier

Jens Lakemeier raised the pot to 28,000 from under the gun and Mostafa Haidary called. On the flop {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, Lakemeier announced all in for what looked like 70,000 still and Haidary snapped him off:

Lakemeier: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}
Haidary: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Lakemeier was virtually drawing dead as the last king in the deck was no good, only running straight cards would keep him in the tournament. It was all over with the {5-Diamonds} turn, making the {2-Clubs} river a formality.

Two All In Players Survive

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Roger Swolf
Roger Swolf

Peter Costa potted, making it 21,000 and Panayotis Flourentzou called.

Roger Swolf raised to 50,000 and Costa called all in for less. Flourentzou called creating a 35,000-chip side pot and the flop came down {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

Flourentzou check-called another 50,000-chip bet from Swolf. He did the same when Swolf bet 75,000 on the {j-Spades} turn, and on the the {10-Diamonds} river, he checked again. Swolf moved in for 62,000 and Flourentzou called.

Flourentzou: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Swolf: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Costa: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Swolf and Costa chopped the main with aces, and Swolf took the side as Flourentzou's kings did not improve.

Swolf had swindled chip leader Mostafa Haidary out of two pots before the hand, and with this pot, he has now taken over top spot on the counts.

Ko Continues to Rise

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Yuki Ko
Yuki Ko

Andrian Chin raised to 12,000 and was called by Panayotis Flourentzou. Both checked the flop {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Chin then led the {10-Hearts} turn for 20,000. Flourentzou called and both checked again the {8-Clubs}. Flourentzou had {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and busted flush draw, Chin took the pot with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Then, Yuki Ko raised to 16,000 and Chin called in the big blind. The flop {4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Spades} saw a check-call of 25,000 by Chin. The {9-Diamonds} turn was checked and Chin check-called another 17,000 on the {5-Spades} river to muck to Ko's {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Last but not least, Mostafa Haidary raised to 16,000 and Flourentzou called in the big blind. On the flop {K-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{J-Spades}, Flourentzou checked and quickly let go to a continuation bet worth 21,000 by Haidary.

Action Out of the Gate

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Mostafa Haidary
Mostafa Haidary

Andrian Chin minimum raised, Mostafa Haidary called and Ilias Sagias did the same before Yuki Ko potted to 86,000 from the small blind.

Haidary was the only caller and they went heads up to a {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop where Ko promptly shoved in.

Haidary released and in the first hand of the day the chip leader has been cut down to size and Ko has moved up the leader board.
