Lindroos Takes Out Kanji and Extends the Chip Lead

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Aleem Kanji open-jammed for about 15 big blinds with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} from early position before Johnny Lindroos over-jammed from middle position with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. The rest of the table folded and Kanji needed some help.

The {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs} came on the board and provided no relief for Kanji. He was able to ladder up in the payouts and collected €1,700 for his 24th place finish.

Play Slowed

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

After a flurry of eliminations, the pace of play has slowed down with the action down to three tables. Peter Hedlund has been out of his seat most of the time chatting away but was excited about the tournament director introducing 100,000-denominated chips into play as he has been having trouble keeping his chips in a stack since the start of Day 2 yesterday.

Siljander Takes Out Lijendal

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The tournament is down to three table. Just after the eliminated of Teemu Salminen, fellow Finnish poker player Jim Johan Lijendal hit the rail in 25th place.

Lijendal jammed a short-stack with {a-}{8-} and was called by Mathias Siljander with {q-}{q-}. The {j-}{3-}{10-}{3-}{5-} board wasn't what Lijendal was looking for and Siljander pushed his stack past the seven-figure barrier.

Kaupmees Takes out Salminen

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Aleem Kanji opened for 40,000 from early position before Teemu Salminen jammed for 260,000. Raul Kaupmees came over the top for his stack of more than 400,000 from the small blind. The player in the big blind folded as did Kanji.

Teemu Salminen: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Raul Kaupmees: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Kaupmees was ahead the entire time with the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} hitting the board and Salminen was eliminated in 26th place.

Snobohm Eliminated

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Around the same time Haaviste went out, Jonatan Snobolm hit the rail. He got his short stack in the pot with {q-}{7-} on a {5-}{3-}{2-}{7-} board after the turn.

The hand was basically over before a blank hit the river as he was drawing dead with his opponent Anders Auset hitting a set with {2-}{2-}.

Extremely Bad Luck on the Final Day for Haaviste

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Annika Haaviste had her aces cracked 30 minutes ago. Her bad luck continued and she is out of the tournament in 28th place.

Mathias Siljander opened with {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for 35,000 before he called a jam for about 190,000 from Haaviste with {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop gave Haaviste a set but also Siljander a flush draw. The flush draw was completed after the {9-Hearts} came on the turn.

Haaviste wasn't able to improve to a full house or quads with the {j-Clubs} completing the board on the river and was eliminated from the tournament.
