First Hand, First Big Pot For Neumann

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Marko Neumann
Marko Neumann

Marko Neumann raised to 85,000 from the hijack with {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Frei Dilling grabbed some chips from the button, putting in a three-bet to 210,000 with {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Both blinds quickly folded and the action was back on Neumann. The German pro made the call and the flop brought out {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Neumann checked right away and Dilling bet out 180,000 into his German opponent. Neumann, the shortest stack with 1.4 million behind, made the call after about 10 seconds.

The turn brought out the {2-Spades} and Neumann checked it again to the Dane who pondered for a while before sliding out a bet worth 375,000. Neumann, hiding behind sunglasses for the first time all tournament, tanked for a long time while playing with his chips and he eventually made the call.

The river completed the board with the {10-Spades} and Neumann checked and Dilling decided to check behind after about 30 seconds. Neumann showed his top pair top kicked and Dilling mucked his cards.

The Cards Are In The Air!

The Final 8 players are now battling it out for the EPT Vienna title! Make sure to stay tuned throughout the day and night, because this will be a long final table! The average stack is more than 85 big blinds and that means there's a ton of play left!

Final Table Coverage Will Start at 1PM Local Time

At 12 pm local time the Final Table of the PokerStars.net European Poker Tour Vienna Main Event will commence. Eight players remain, all eying that first place prize of 816,000.

As the live stream will feature hole cards, there's a one hour delay. So you'll have to wait till 1pm local time for the live stream and blog coverage to start.

We're in for a long final table presumably as the average stack is worth 85 big blinds. Just like the PCA this year, Day 5 lasted only a couple of hours. Down from 17 till 8 took just 3 hours of play.

Gavin O'Rourke was the final table bubble as his queen-jack couldn't improve against Frei Dilling's pocket tens. Most of his chips he lost against Anthony Ghamrawi though. In a 5.5 million pot his red queens squared off against red kings and Ghamrawi cowboys held up to catapult him into the chip lead position.

This is the way the eight players will be seated
