Iliodoros Kamatakis Eliminated in 5th Place (138,110)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Iliodoros Kamatakis - 5th Place
Iliodoros Kamatakis - 5th Place

Iliodoros Kamatakis managed to pick up a few chips by shoving over the top of a raise, but when he tried it for a second time he found himself racing for his tournament life.

It began when Jaroslaw Sikora opened for 170,000 from the cutoff and Kamatakis shoved all in for 1.175 million from the big blind. Sikora thought for about 45 seconds and then made the call.

Kamatakis: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Sikora: {q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Kamatakis got it in good, but he fell behind on the {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop. The {Q-Spades} turn left Kamatakis in need of an eight on the river to survive, but despite his pleas to the dealer, it didn't come as the {A-Hearts} peeled off instead.

Daniel Cates Eliminated in 6th Place (138,110)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Cates
Daniel Cates

Prague has seen some huge hands this week and another has just gone down here in the high roller.

Daniel Cates open-shoved from the button, Iliodoros Kamatakis reshoved from the small blind, and Felix Bleiker snap-called both shove from his seat in the big blind.

Cates: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Kamatakis: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Bleiker: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop improved Cates to a pair of queens but he needed to catch another out on the turn or river. Sadly, for Cates fans at least, the turn and river fell {2-Spades} and {4-Spades}, busting Cates and reducing Kamatakis' stack to 900,000.

Four-Bet Slows Action

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Iliodoros Kamatakis opened for 150,000 from the hijack and was met by a three-bet to 375,000 by Jaroslaw Sikora on the button. When action reached Kenneth Smaron in the big blind, he opted for a four-bet to 825,000 and Kamatakis hit the tank for over four minutes before releasing. Sikora then did the same and folded.

Big Hand Goes Sikora's Way

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

It was a rather innocuous hand until the river of the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} board then Felix Bleiker bet 400,000 and was shoved on for 1,472,000 in total by Jaroslaw Sikora from the next seat along. After a minute or so, Bleiker tossed in a chip and called.

Sikora: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Bleiker: {10-}{9-}

Both players had a straight, but Sikora's was superior and it saw him double to 3 million chips.

"Can't Keep a Jungleman Down"

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Daniel Cates in the small blind and he raised all in for 460,000, which Iliodoros Kamatakis called from the big blind.

Kamatakis: {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Cates: {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Cates was ahead and looking to hold. The {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop was scary as Kamatakis picked up an open-ender, but he missed it as the {J-Clubs} bricked on the turn followed by the {6-Clubs} on the river.

"Can't keep a Jungleman down," Cates said with a big smile.

Smaron Gets His Chips Back From Soika

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Cates raised to 120,000 from under the gun, only to be shoved on by Ihar Soika in the small blind.

"I'm all-in," said Kenneth Smaron in the big blind, before Cates instantly folded.

Smaron: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Soika: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

A king on the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop left Soika drawing extremely thin, with the {4-Clubs} turn meaning he was drawing dead. The {Q-Diamonds} completed the board and Smaron's double-up.

Soika Continues to Climb

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Iliodoros Kamatakis opened for 135,000 from the cutoff and Ihar Soika defended from the big blind. When the flop came down {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Soika check-called a bet of 205,000 before both players checked the {4-Hearts} turn as well as the {Q-Spades} river. Soika tabled the {10-Clubs}{a-Spades} for a pair of tens, and it was good as Kamatakis simply mucked.

Soika Finds Queens and Doubles

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Ihar Soika, is up to 2,700,000 thanks to doubling through American Kenneth Smaron.

Felix Bleiker raised to 125,000 from late position, Soika responded with an all-in bet of 1,170,000 from the button, and Smaron called from the small blind, and Daniel Cates ducked out of the way from the big blind.

Soika showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and was way ahead of Smaron's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Soika's grip on the hand grew tighter on the {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop, although the {J-Hearts} turn gave Smaron some outs to a straight. The {2-Diamonds} missed Smaron and he handed over almost half of his stack.
