Eduard Norel opened to 4,500 from early position and was called by David Karsenty in the small blind. Karsenty checked the K?K?5? flop before Norel continued for 4,000.

Karsenty answered with a check-raise to 9,500 and was called to the 2? turn. Karsenty then led out by announcing a bet of 16,000 and Norel took some time before making the call.

After the 2? river, Karsenty committed the rest of his stack of around 50,000 and Norel went into the tank. After a few minutes, the call was made.

"Nice hand" said Karsenty, turning over A?9? for two pair on board with an ace kicker. Norel revealed J?10? for a flush to take down a big pot and send Karsenty to the rail.

EPT Cyprus Main Event Draws Players from 70 Different Countries

A total of 896 unique players tossed in 1,320 entries for the €5,300 Main Event at the inaugural EPT Cyprus. The debut marks a huge success as there has been a larger turnout than the biggest-ever EPT Prague Main Event (1,267 entries in December 2022).

The field represented 70 countries, with the top five nations being Russia (122), Turkey (58), France (57), Germany (54), and the United Kingdom (48). The 122 runners from Russia accounted for 13.6% of the field.

Vasileios Panagiotidis bought in on Day 2 of the Main Event and has had a fruitful start to the day.

Beginning the hand with 93,000, he opened to 3,500 from under the gun. Mohammad Awamleh three-bet to 10,000 from the small blind before Erdal Gulseven reraised to 22,000 from the big blind. Panagiotidis then shoved, Awamleh committed his 47,000 stack and Gulseven went into the tank before calling as the covering stack.

Adi Rajkovic opened to 3,500 from early position and EPT Barca Main Event champ Simon Wiciak called from the big blind.

Wiciak check-called for 1,500 on the J?Q?J? flop but snap-folded to a bet of 16,500 on the 9? turn.

Wiciak then folded his next two hands from the small blind and the button.

Wojciech Stefanski moved all in for 23,000 from early position and Wiciak called from the cutoff. Grzegorz Kozieja rejammed for 80,000 from the big blind and after some thought, Wiciak folded.

Stefanski had A?K? while Kozieja had 10?10?. The 9?2?2?7?5? runout confirmed Stefanski's elimination. After the hand, Wiciak said he had AxQx.

Wiciak then folded his next three hands. While the Frenchman took a small hit during the orbit, he still has plenty of chips in front of him and has just under 100 big blinds.

Mhiri checked the Q?J?9? flop and Mulder fired out 9,000. Mhiri made it 25,000 but swiftly entered the tank after Mulder reraised to put him all-in for the 35,000 he had behind.

After some time in the tank, Mhiri committed the rest of his stack and the cards were turned over.
