Mateos Waits For the River to Bring Out a Big Raise

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Prior to the hand, a dispute arose at the table as the players argued with the floor that play should not begin until all late entries had been seated. They held onto their cards and didn't play a hand for the first several minutes of the level while the situation was resolved. A tournament official assured them that they weren't going to wait, and that play should begin right away.

Joakim Andersson then raised to 10,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos called on the button. Both players checked to the river on a board of 5?J?5?A?10? when Andersson bet 25,000.

Mateos then raised to 95,000 and Andersson tanked for a minute before folding.

Boivin's Check-Raise Gets Reixach Above Starting

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Sergi Reixach limped in from the button and Thomas Boivin checked his option in the big blind.

The J?2?10? flop was then dealt and Boivin checked to Reixach, who put in the minimum bet of 5,000. Boivin responded with a raise to 14,000, which Reixach called.

Boivin reverted to checking on the 6? turn, and Reixach followed up with a bet of 18,000. Boivin quickly folded as the pot was shipped Reixach's way.

Reixach Doubles in Jovial Hand

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sergi Reixach

The action folded to Jean-Noel Thorel in the small blind, who limped in. Sergi Reixach then went all in from the big blind for 35,000 chips and Thorel immediately called.

Sergi Reixach: A?7?
Jean-Noel Thorel: A?J?

It was looking like the end for Reixach, but the 7?9?2? flop saw him take the lead. His pair of sevens held on the 4?5? runout and he doubled up.

"We're not even yet!" Reixach joked, leading to laughter across the table.

Gutierrez Goes for an Early Dinner

Level 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Nikita Kuznetsov raised to 8,000 from the cutoff and received calls from Sam Greenwood on the button and Elias Gutierrez in the big blind.

The flop fell K?4?2? and the action checked to Greenwood, who made a small bet of 7,000 chips. Gutierrez then jammed for 36,500 chips and Kuznetsov tossed in a calling chip.

Greenwood quickly got out of the way and the other two players showed down.

Elias Gutierrez: Q?7?
Nikita Kuznetsov: K?5?

The 7? turn gave Gutierrez some extra hope, but the 5? river saw Kuznetsov make two pair to win the pot and send Gutierrez to the exit.

Dvoress checked to Reixach who bet 13,000. Dvoress then moved all in and Reixach quickly folded with around 60,000 behind.

At the same time on another table, Elias Gutierrez bet 5,000 on a flop of Q?Q?5? and Nikita Kuznetsov raised to 16,000 in the big blind. Gutierrez called.

Mokri Runs Into Nuts

Level 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Kayhan Mokri
Kayhan Mokri

Adrian Mateos had raised preflop from under the gun and was called by Kayhan Mokri in the small blind. On the A?K?K? flop, Mokri checked to Mateos, who fired a bet of 5,000 chips.

Mokri responded with a raise to 17,500, which Mateos called. On the J? turn, Mokri sized up to 20,000 and received another call from Mateos.

The 3? river then arrived and Mokri put all his chips in the middle, amounting to 100,000 of them. Mateos snap called and tabled his A?A? for top full house.

Mokri's K?10? for trip kings were not good enough, resulting in his second and final exit of the day.
