Mateos Hits the River to Bust Smiljkovic

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action folded to Daniel Smiljkovic in the small blind who pushed all in for 102,000. Adrian Mateos called in the big blind to put him at risk.

Daniel Smiljkovic: K?10?
Adrian Mateos: A?7?

Mateos remained in the lead on the 9?J?6? flop, but Smiljkovic hit the 10? on the turn to make a pair. The river, though, was the A? and Mateos spiked his ace to win the pot and send Smiljkovic to the rail.

Andersson Can Not Beat Rockets

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Joakim Andersson
Joakim Andersson

Joakim Andersson and Adrian Mateos had arrived on the river on 2?7?J?2?5?. With around 190,000 chips already in the middle, Andersson checked from the big blind to Mateos under the gun.

Mateos then put enough chips in the middle to put Andersson all in for his stack of 85,000. Andersson thought it over for a bit but ended up making the call.

Mateos tabled A?A? and Andersson could not beat that as his cards flew into the muck while he took his leave.

On another table, Sergi Reixach was also eliminated from the tournament.

Lonis Flops Quads, Kuznetsov Still Not Drawing Dead

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Nikita Kuznetsov raised to 11,000 in middle position before Jesse Lonis moved all in for 78,000 on the button. Kuznetsov used up nearly his entire time clock before calling.

Jesse Lonis: 8?8?
Nikita Kuznetsov: K?Q?

The two players were racing, but it didn't stay a coin flip for long as the flop brought J?8?8?, giving Lonis quads. The turn was the 9? and Kuznetsov picked up a straight flush draw, but he missed the 3? river and Lonis doubled up.

Several players are still voicing their disapproval of the late registration ruling and continue to have discussions with tournament officials. "The people aren't happy. They're getting pitchforks," Sam Grafton said.
