Around 24 hours ago, Steven Silverman was busy beating Tony Gregg on his way to claiming the High Roller title. Today he just lost with pocket aces and was eliminated soon after.
Vladimir Troyanovsky left him with five big blinds after he called a raise with five-six and flopped two that turned into a full house on the turn. There was betting on every street before the money went in on the river. Silverman's aces were no good.
A short while after he shoved with king-jack and was called by an opponent with ace-nine. He failed to improve and was out of the door.
Patrik Antonious and Sorel Mizzi have sat down and Marvin Rettenmaier must be wishing they never entered after a cooler saw hom lose a huge pot.
Rettenmaier opened to 9,500 from the hijack before Antonious three-bet from the next seat. Mizzi was in the small blind and four-bet to 53,000. The action was back on the German and he shoved, having both players covered. Antonious moved out of the way but Mizzi snap called.

Max Altergott is the latest German to join the field and he wasted little time in battling with his countryman, Philipp Gruissem.
Altergott opened to 8,000 from the cut-off and was called Vladimir Troyanovsky in the next seat before Gruissem squeezed to 26,000 off the button. Both players called to the flop where Gruissem continued for 38,000. Only Altergott called to the turn where both players checked. Altergott led for 42,000 on the river and Gruissem released his hand.
Gruissem got his own back a few hands later after he four-bet to 52,000. He had opened the pot with a 6,000 under-the-gun raise before Dani Stern called and Altergott squeezed to 26,500 from the small blind. Gruissem's four-bet got both opponents to fold.
From under the gun, Vladimir Troyanovsky raised to 7,000. Max Altergott called from the big blind, and then fired 12,000 on the flop. Troyanovsky called to see the land on the turn, then Altergott bet 28,000. Troyanovsky folded, and Altergott won the pot.
The board read when Justin Bonomo bet 42,000 and Viktor Blom called from the button. On the river the hit and Bonomo check-folded to a 162,600 bet. Blom is back up to 820,000 while Bonomo takes another hit.
From the small blind, Mikhail Smirnov raised to 10,000. Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind, and the flop came down . Smirnov fired 6,500, and Negreanu called.
The turn was the , and Smirnov bet 22,800. Negreanu folded, and Smirnov won the pot.
