Melville Moves In

Alistar Melville has been very, very quiet today. We sat up and took notice when he opened under the gun for more than 3x, to 250,000. Small blind Mike Beasley called to a {2-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {4-Clubs} flop, then led into Melville with his own bet of 250,000. Melville quickly raised all in; Beasley just as quickly folded.

Woods Tees Off on Selbst

Mike "Not Tiger" Woods

Chip leader Vanessa Selbst has been opening lots of pots. She was in the cutoff for the most recent hand and opened to 185,000. Derek Raymond called from the button, as did big blind Mike Woods.

Woods checked to Selbst on a flop of {2-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}. Selbst cut down 235,000 in chips and threw them in the middle. Raymond quickly folded, but Woods called.

The turn paired the board {7-Clubs}. Woods checked again, drawing a bet of 570,000 from Selbst. Woods raised just more than the minimum, to 1,200,000. It was enough to induce a fold from Selbst.

Rail Report

Aguiar and Alexis Gilbard watch the monitor over the final table
Aguiar and Alexis Gilbard watch the monitor over the final table
So who's here sweating this sick final table? Jonathan Aguiar just came back in to rail friends Scott Seiver and Vanessa Selbst. Dan Frank has been here all afternoon. Matt Brady and David Fox have taken seats in the audience as well.

Selbst has half of the front row locked up with her friends from Yale, all holding entertaining signs and having a good time. Seiver's sweaters give a healthy cheer every time he wins a pot. Derek Raymond's sweaters are more the quiet clapping type. When Neil Johnson, who's calling the action, asked his section if they were asleep, Raymond quipped, "No, they're just old."

Beasley Straightens Out

Things got better and better for Mike Beasley in a three-way pot against Mike Woods and Vanessa Selbst. Selbst was the pre-flop aggressor, raising to 145,000 from the cutoff. The two Mikes were in the blinds and both called to an {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} flop. Everyone checked.

Beasley checked again on the {J-Hearts} turn. Woods cut 380,000 chips off of his stack and pushed them into the pot. Selbst quickly surrendered her cards, but Beasley called.

The river fell {10-Spades}. Beasley checked to Woods. He tanked for about a minute before checking behind. Beasley's {J-Spades} {9-Spades} made a jack-high straight. That was the winner; Woods mucked.

Woods Jammed On

Mike Woods raised to 160,000. Scott Seiver reraised from the button all in for 895,000. Woods was in the cutoff seat. As common of Woods, he took his time and thought about his decision. Eventually, he gave it up and Seiver scooped the pot.

Beasley Three-Bets Selbst

Beasley gets the point
Beasley gets the point
Vanessa Selbst raised to 145,000 from under the gun. Mike Beasley reraised when action got over to him. He pumped it up to 470,000 total. Action then folded back to the original raiser Selbst. She asked for a count on Beasley's stack as she has done so often in the hands she has played before continuing on. Beasley gave her the amount and then Selbst went into the tank. After a little but, Selbst flashed her holecards back to the camera and then tossed them into the muck.
