Both players checked the turn to bring the river , where Lawrence checked to Le once more. Le put out a bet of 25,000 and Lawrence made the crying call.
Le tabled for second pair, top kicker and Lawrence sent his hand to the muck for Le to take down the pot.
Jesse Rockowitz opened the action with a raise to 35,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Justin Thurlow, who three-bet to 80,000 in the cutoff. Rockowitz four-bet all in for around 320,000 and Thurlow called.
Jesse Rockowitz:
Justin Thurlow:
The two were in a classic coin flip situation for the runout of , leaving Thurlow's queens best to send Rockowitz to the payout desk in 16th place.
James Lawrence opened to 35,000 from early position and received two calls before Alex Winter three-bet all in from the big blind. Lawrence reshoved to isolate the other two out of the pot and the two turned up their hands.
Alex Winter:
James Lawrence:
Winter was unable to hit a seven as the board came to result in his elimination in 17th place.
Gennady Shimelfarb opened the action with a raise to 26,000 from under the gun. Action folded around to Bill Perpich, who was on the button and called. Eric Torgerson also came along, defending his big blind to take action three ways to the streets.
The flop fell and all three players checked. Torgerson fired out 40,000 on the turn and Shimelfarb folded. Perpich called to take action heads up to the river where both players checked to go to showdown.
Perpich showed and Torgerson tabled for kings and nines to earn the pot and take him just shy of 800,000 in chips.
Erick Wright shoved all in for 145,000 from middle position and action folded around to Saad Ghanem, who asked for confirmation of the amount before announcing a call.
Erick Wright:
Saad Ghanem:
Wright was in need of improving and was unable to do so on the flop . The turn took away his six outs but provided eight new ones for him to sweat. He would not get there, however, as the river came to leave him with ace-king high to Ghanem's top two pair to result in Wright departing the tournament in 18th place.
Gennady Shimelfarb opened the action with a raise to 30,000 from the cutoff and was three-bet to around 78,000 by Rob Wazwaz, who was in the small blind. Shimelfarb four-bet all in over the top to put Wazwaz to a decision for his remaining chips, sending him deep into the tank.
"Gennady, if I show fold and show, will you show me?" asked Wazwaz after over a minute. Shimelfarb stayed statue-esque.
Another minute went by and Wazwaz folded. Shimelfbarb sent his cards to the muck and scooped in the pot.
Meanwhile, Matt Alexander was just eliminated from an adjacent table in 19th place to bring the tournament down to 18 players.
Paul Hickerseon shoved all in for his last 85,000 from under the gun and Bob Van Syckle, who was next to act in middle position, announced a call. All remaining players folded and the two tabled their hands.
