Katchalov crushing now

We got back to the table with the flop in the middle of the felt: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Daniel Negreanu had checked and Eugene Katchalov had bet. Negreanu called, although the amount was unknown.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Negreanu checked. Katchalov fired 425,000 and after a long time in the tank, Negreanu check-raised to 1.075 million. Katchalov made the call.

The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts} and Negreanu slid out a bet of 425,000. Katchalov moved all in and Negreanu flung his hand into the muck. He's down to 850,000 now while Katchalov has the rest of the biscuits with his stack at 8.65 million.

Katchalov Takes a Big Pot

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

From the button, Eugene Katchalov raised to 125,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Negreanu checked. Katchlov fired 150,000 and Negreanu called.

The {6-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Negreanu checked again. Katchalov slid out a bet of 350,000. Negreanu made the call and this pot was getting big.

The river card was the {5-Spades} and Negreanu checked. Katchalov fired a big bet worth 1.15 million. Negreanu thought for a bit and began talking to himself out loud as he so often does in poker. He commented on the hand being a cooler and wondered aloud what Katchalov could have. Eventually, he made the call.

Katchalov tabled the {K-}{6-}, a red king and a black six. Negreanu mucked and commented that he had Katchalov on the flop. Timely turn card for Katchalov if that is true and he's up to 6.9 million. Negreanu dropped to 2.6 million.

Play Ball

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The two men are back in action for the heads-up finale to this Super High Roller!

A Moment For Daniel

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

By virtue of his place in this final pairing, Daniel Negreanu has taken over the all-time tournament money lead from Mr. Phil Ivey. That is, of course, pending Ivey's appearance on Poker After Dark that is set to air this week.

With the million dollars that he's already guaranteed, Negreanu's cashes now total $14,116,191 with potential to add another half million to that number with a win.

We think that's a pretty incredible thing for a 36-year-old, so congrats to Negreanu for taking over that top spot!
