Kevin Hart Amongst the Early Sign-Ups

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Hollywood star and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart loves the game of poker. After firing two bullets in the $100,000 Super High Roller and playing the Main Event yesterday, he was one of the first ones to sign up for the $50,000 Single-Day High Roller today. He's not alone, the field is packed with big names.

Who's Single-Handedly Going to Beat Everyone in the $50,000 Single-Day?

Can Steve O'Dwyer go back-to-back?
Can Steve O'Dwyer go back-to-back?

The PokerStars Championship Bahamas may be a new name for what was formerly known as the PCA, the schedule is just about the same as its predecessor. So, like last year, the festival has a $50,000 Single-Day Super High Roller. Coming from the bright mind of Bryn Kenney who suggested the format back in Prague some years ago, the tournament has been a fixture on the European Poker Tour's for some time. And why would you do away with something so successful?

While massive amounts of players partake in Day 1b of the PokerStars Championship Bahamas Main Event in one corner of the room, the High Rollers of this world sit down in another to battle each other for high stakes. Players put up $50,000 and get the guarantee they'll be a bit poorer or a whole lot richer before the Atlantis Imperial Ballroom halts all fast-paced gambling action at 4 AM.

The event debuted on the schedule last year of what was then known as the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. It was none other than Steve O'Dwyer who took down the top prize - just a buy-in short of a cool million. O'Dywer, who holds a great track record here in The Bahamas having taken down the $100,000 Super High Roller in 2015, is likely to participate again this year, as he's somewhat of a fan of the format and high rollers in genereal it appears.

Action starts at noon (in about two hours). Players start with 100,000 in chips and blinds at 500/1,000 (ante 100). Blinds will go up every half hour and the players have the option to do a single reentry if they go bust before the starts of the ninth level. PokerNews.com will be on the ground from start to finish to bring you all the updates you can ask for.
