Maltez Doubles Through Talbot

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Fabrice Maltez was moved tables and shoved from the button. Parker Talbot in the small blind asked for a count and, once it was deemed to be for 113,000, the Canadian called.

Fabrice Maltez: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Parker Talbot: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Maltez spiked an ace on the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, but Talbot picked up a flush draw on the {5-Hearts} turn. The {K-Clubs} river was a blank and Maltez let out a relieved "yesss."

Kruk Busts Buchanan

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Boris Kolev on the button opened and small blind Christopher Kruk and big blind Shawn Buchanan both called. The blinds checked to the initial raiser on {5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and a continuation bet of 48,000 followed. Kruk check-raised to 145,000 and big blind Buchanan shoved for 326,000. Kolev gave up, Kruk reluctantly called after having received a complete count.

Shawn Buchanan: {K-Spades}{5-Spades}
Christopher Kruk: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

"How is my ace not live?" Kruk said seconds before the dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds}.

Kruk didn't need the ace anymore and the {9-Spades} on the river was inconsequential.

"I thought people were gambling big on the Mayweather fight!" table mate Sam Grafton said.

"I didn't, just so I could blast off today," Kruk snap replied.

"You were a bigger underdog than McGregor mate, just a gutshot!" Grafton said with a big smile before their table was broken.

Francis-Nicolas Bouchard: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Christoph Vogelsang: {J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The board came {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Vogelsang flopped a jack to send the French-Canadian to the rail.

Sotiropoulos Doubles Through Alvarado

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jens Lakemeier raised to 45,000 and Joaquin Walter three-bet to 130,000 from the cutoff. Lakemeier moved all in and Walter folded.

Over on table three, Ihar Soika raised to 43,000 and picked up three callers in Ronny Kaiser, JC Alvarado in the cutoff and Georgios Sotiropoulos in the big blind. The flop fell {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} and the action checked to Alvarado, who bet 90,000. Sotiropoulos check-raised all in and it folded back to Alvarado who asked for a count. The shove was for 452,000 and Alvarado called.

Georgios Sotiropoulos: {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
JC Alvarado: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {A-Spades} turn filled up Sotiropoulos to a full house and the {2-Hearts} river was already meaningless.

Talbot Doubles Walter

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Parker Talbot opened the cutoff and saw his neighbor Joaquin Walter shove from the button for 271,000. As soon as the blinds folded, Talbot called instantly.

Parker Talbot: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Joaquin Walter: {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, hitting Walter. The {8-Spades} on the turn and {2-Clubs} on the river were blanks and Talbot started stacking off some chips to hand to Walter.

Changes to the Structure

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Because of the huge turnout, the tournament has a little too many people still in with 34. The projections from the tournament organization predicted that this tournament wouldn't finish in time.

The remaining players were presented with 2 options to combat this. Either play 50-minute levels throughout today instead of 60, or 60-minute levels for the first 6 levels and 45-minute levels thereafter. The majority choose the latter option so levels will remain 60 minutes till the 7th level of the day starts.

Besides this option, breaks have been reduced from 20 minutes long till 15 minutes long and the dinner break is now just 30 minutes long. Players still active in the tournament do get a ticket for the buffet so there's an option closeby where players will be able to get dinner in time.

Players at the final table will get an extra time bank.
