Badziakouski Leaves Derwiche Very Short

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Only two minutes remained in the level, but the final hand lasted several minutes into the new level. Mikita Badziakouski raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and Imad Derwiche called in the big blind. On the {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Derwiche bet 60,000 and was called before checking the {A-Diamonds} turn.

Now, Derwiche checked and Badziakouski bet 50,000. Derwiche check-raised to 110,000 and Badziakouski called before the Frenchman bet another 110,000 on the {7-Diamonds} river. Badziakouski was taken aback, then said "I am not sure if I can fold this." The Belorussian did call, and Derwiche flashed {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, while Badziakouski claimed the pot with {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Alvarado Busts to Badziakouski to Set Up Unofficial Final Table

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

JC Alvarado min-raised to 20,000 from under the gun and the action reached Mikita Badziakouski, who let the clock run down to around 15 seconds before announcing all in. It folded back to Alvarado, and he called all in for his last 336,000, which Badziakouski had covered by two big blinds.

JC Alvarado: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Mikita Badziakouski: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop was a sweat for both players, but ultimately the {4-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river bricked off to send Alvarado to the rail. "We are moving to the final table Dan," Badziakouski said over to the other table towards Dan Smith.

There will be a short break now to set up the unofficial final table!

Wang Cripples Smith; Smith Stages Comeback

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Action folded around to the dressing gown clad Dan Smith in the small blind and he moved all-in for 387,000. Big blind Zuo Wang looked down at his cards and called instantly.

Dan Smith: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Zuo Wang: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Smith was in bad shape and did not improve when the board ran out {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and the only ray of sunshine was the fact that Wang did not have him covered. Unfortunately for Smith, he did not get much change and was left with a paltry 4,000 C a little less than a single ante.

All in automatically the next hand Smith received some protection when Timothy Adams min-raised and folded out the blinds.

Adams rolled over {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}, dominating Smiths {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} until the board ran out {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades} to give the US player the flush and he climbed back up to 15,000.

Smith won the next hand as well after moving all-in with {9-Spades}{10-Spades} and both Imad Derwiche and Oliver Weis called from the blinds and checked the {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts} board all the way down.

Nice game boys Psyche! joked Smith as he slapped the winning hand face up on to the felt to climb back up to 51,000. What a recovery!

Petrangelo Increases Pressure

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After a limp by Canlin Chen, John Juanda raised it up to 57,000 from the cutoff and Nick Petrangelo then four-bet to 175,000 in the small blind. Both opponents folded and the pot was shipped to Petrangelo.

Then, Chen raised to 53,0900 from the cutoff and Petrangelo three-bet big to 150,000 in the big blind, forcing yet another fold.

Derwiche Doubles Through Weis

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Oliver Weis raised to 45,000 first to act and Dan Smith called on the button. Imad Derwiche verified the raising amount and called in the big blind. Once the flop fell {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Derwiche instantly moved all in. Weis asked for a count and the all in of the Frenchman was for 172,000.

The shot clock ticked down to one second when Weis moved all in to isolate, and Smith folded.

Imad Derwiche: {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Oliver Weis: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Nothing much changed with the {3-Spades} turn, but Derwiche shot out of his chair on the {A-Clubs} river to celebrate the double.

Chen Sends Liang Out

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Canlin Chen opened to 38,000 from under-the-gun and action folded around to Yu Liang in the big blind. Liang seemed eager to play and made the call to take the action heads-up to the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

Liang checked it over to Chen, who fired out an enticing 16,000 min-bet, which Liang felt obliged to call and it was off to the {5-Spades} turn, which brought another check from Liang and another bet from Che, this one a slightly larger 50,000.

This sent Liang into tank mode for a while but he does eventually chose to call, leaving himself 86,000 behind. This found its way into the middle when the {4-Hearts} hit the river and Chen snap called.

Liang, holding {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} had just rivered two pairs, but this was still not enough to beat Chens flopped set of sevens when he turned over {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} to take the pot and bring Liangs tournament to an abrupt end.

Smith Doubles in Battle of Blinds

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Dan Smith shoved once and claimed the blinds and antes. Imad Derwiche then won a pot without showdown and showed a king before the action then folded all the way around to Timothy Adams in the small blind. He simply raised to 250,000, which was enough to cover Smith.

The American checked his cards and called. Both turned over one card each first, and Smith then laughed "I knew it."

Dan Smith: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Timothy Adams: {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{3-Clubs} paired up Smith, and his double was secured by the time the {8-Spades} appeared on the turn. A meaningless {7-Spades} river completed the board and Smith doubled for 168,000.
