‘Lucky’ Jack Dodges Bullets for Double-up

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jack Salter - 'really lucky'
Jack Salter - 'really lucky'

The first three hands at the final table were all decided pre-flop with no action before we got the first fireworks. The UK’s Jack Salter lit the blue touch paper with a middle position limp and the action folded around to Mikita Badziakouski in the cutoff, who popped it up to 100,000.

The table folded around to David Peters in the big blind, who asks how much both players have behind – Salter has around 650,000 and Badziakouski has around 1.9 million – and he made the call.

Salter then check-raised all-in and Badziakouski hit the think tank. It was all Hollywood though as he wanted Peters to call. Unfortunately this does not work out quite as planned.

Peters folded and Badziakouski rolled over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

“I wasn’t trying to slow roll you,” said Badziakouski, ‘I was just trying to get some more action.”

“Don’t worry, I’m pretty lucky,” quipped Salter turning over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

This is evident as the flop came down {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Clubs} to ‘oooohhhhs’ and ‘ahhhhhs’ from the watching rail.

The {6-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river granted Salter the double and the chip lead while Badziakouski took a big hit.

Dvoress Misses out on the Money

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Former big stack Daniel Dvoress faced the raise to 54,000 by David Peters and the call by Quan Zhou before moving all in for a total of 234,000 in the small blind. Peters asked for the count and also looked over to table neighbor Zhou, then folded. Zhou quickly moved forward a stack for the call and put Dvoress at risk.

Daniel Dvoress: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Quan Zhou: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board of {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} failed to improve Dvoress and he bowed out in 10th place. All remaining nine players will now be united on one table and continue right on the money bubble with less than one minute left on the level.

Badziakouski Doubles Through Quoss

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

On the cutoff, Mikita Badziakouski raised to 50,000 and Fabian Quoss asked for his stack size and also glanced over to Jack Salter in the small blind as well as Zuo Wang in the big blind. Quoss then moved all in and the blinds got out of the way, Badziakouski however quickly called.

Mikita Badziakouski: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Fabian Quoss: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The board came {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the Belorussian doubled up for massive 458,000, leaving Quoss short.

Quoss Wins Pot; Petrangelo Doubles

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Hand 1

Zuo Wang raised from the cutoff and Fabian Quoss defended the big blind. On the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Quoss check-called a bet worth 37,000 and both then checked the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. Wang then faced a bet worth 80,000 by Quoss on the {4-Spades} turn and eventually called, but soon after mucked when Quoss showed {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a pair of kings.

Hand 2

Several three-bet shoves followed without any showdown, as Jack Salter got through with his move against Badziakouski and Quoss, Then, Nick Petrangelo shoved for his last 195,000 from the button and Badziakouski reshoved in the small blind.

Nick Petrangelo: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Mikita Badziakouski: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Petrangelo completed a backdoor straight to stay in two spots off the money.

Dvoress Gives Zhou a Gift

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

A huge hand played out between Daniel Dvoress and Quan Zhou that left the Canadian player’s stack decimated.

Pre-flop it was Zhou who was the aggressor, making it 42,000 to go on the button and Dvoress defended from the big blind and made the call taking the action heads-up to a {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop.

This brought a check from Dvoress and a bet of 51,000 from Zhou, which the Canadian called and the turn came down {k-Spades} bringing a second check from Dvoress and a second barrel from Zhou, this one a slightly more sizable 90,000.

Dvoress thought longer this time but did call to bring both players to the {7-Hearts} river and the Canadian checked for the third time. Zhou had just 165,000 behind and he stacked it up into a single tower before pushing it into the middle to send Dvoress deep into the tank where he remained for 90 seconds after burning through both his remaining time bank chips.

With just 1 second left on the shot clock, Dvoress threw in a single blue 1k chip for the call and Zhou slammed down {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, which was leading Dvoress’ {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Artem Metalidi out in 11th
Artem Metalidi out in 11th

Action folded around to Artem Metalidi in the small blind and he quickly announced ‘all-in’ and was called instantly by Zuo Wang and from Metalidi’s sharp intake of breath it sounds like this is not a good thing.

Artem Metalidi: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Zuo Wang: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} meaning Wang’s kicker played and Metalidi departed in 11th place.

Price Busts to Peters

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Oliver Price
Oliver Price

Oliver Price was moved over to table two and lasted all but a few hands there. Down to 154,000, he moved all in first to act and Shuo Li called in the cutoff. David Peters then moved all in over the top from the button to force a fold from the blinds. Li also got out of the way and the cards were tabled.

Oliver Price: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
David Peters: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

After a board of {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, the kicker played and Peters sent Price to the rail, further increasing his lead and immediately asking for a color up of some chips.
