Juanda Folds to Small Bet

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

John Juanda opened the button for 9,500 and small blind Christoph Vogelsang and big blind Aidyn Auyezkanov called.

Vogelsang checked on {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and Auyezkanov bet 15,000. Juanda called, Vogelsang folded.

The {A-Hearts} hit the turn and Aidyn Auyezkanov, who finished 3rd in this event last year, now bet 10,000. Juanda called.

As the {4-Hearts} completed the board, Auyezkanov bet 12,000. Juanda thought about it for 30 seconds, used a time bank chip, and eventually laid it down.

Nitsche Busts to Kurganov

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Dominik Nitsche moved all in for his last 50,000 and [Removed:17] called on the button. Igor Kurganov double-checked the remaining stack of Yan and called from the big blind as well. Both remaining active players checked down the board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} entirely and Nitsche announced "I have an ace and a jack" before turning over {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

Yan mucked and Kurganov flipped over {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} as winning hand.

Thomas Busts While Schemion Doubles

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Hand 1

Stefan Schillhabel on the button and Julian Thomas in the small blind got into a raising war with the former ending up as the player at risk for 160,000 with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Thomas had the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and was reduced to all but 3,500 chips after a board of {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts}.

Hand 2

Mark Teltscher and Dan Smith in the big blind played for the bigger side pot while Thomas was all in and awaiting his fate. The active duo checked the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop and Smith check-folded the {K-Spades} turn to a bet of 7,000 by Teltscher. Thomas turned over the {J-Spades}{8-Spades} and Teltscher tabled {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, the {5-Hearts} river was a blank.

Hand 3

Ole Schemion shoved for 43,000 from the button and Smith reshoved in the small blind after having asked for the count of Adrian Mateos in the big blind.

Ole Schemion: {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Dan Smith: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Schemion stood up even before the flop fell {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, and Smith picked up some outs on the {5-Diamonds} turn. A blank {K-Hearts} river changed nothing and Schemion doubled.

Adams Bets Big

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Well, relative to the pot that is.

Byron Kaverman opened the cutoff for 10,000 and Timothy Adams called from the big blind. Both checked on the {3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and the {3-Spades} turn before the {3-Diamonds} completed the board.

Adams bet 35,000 and Kaverman, with a pained look on his face, eventually called. Adams showed {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Kaverman mucked.

Colman Bests O'Dwyer

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Dan Colman raised to 9,000 and Mustapha Kanit called on the button, as did Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, O'Dwyer checked and subsequently called a bet of 15,000 by Colman while Kanit got out of the way. On the {K-Spades} turn, O'Dwyer check-called another bet of 31,000 before the {A-Clubs} river was checked.

O'Dwyer showed {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Colman had that beat with {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} before being moved over one table. That previously featured Fedor Holz, who has since been eliminated.

Sontheimer Loses a Flip to Holz

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The Germans on the table had previously already joked with an "und tsch?", which translates to "goodbye," but it took until now to come into effect as one of them was sent to the rail. It was short stack Steffen Sontheimer, who open-shoved from the small blind for around 48,000, and Fedor Holz in the big blind called.

Steffen Sontheimer: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Fedor Holz: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Sontheimer was eliminated, prompting Holz to say the "und tsch?" with a smile on the face. Sontheimer took it in good spirit though and laughed back. He then immediately asked the floor if he can re-enter here or walk over to the main venue, and may very well be back shortly.

Smith Doubles

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We missed the first raise sizes but it was Stefan Schillhabel opening under the gun and Dan Smith in the cutoff three-betting. Schillhabel four-bet to 73,000 and action was back on Smith. Smith tanked for 30seconds, tossed in a time bank chip, and eventually moved all in for 234,000. Schillhabel called instantly.

Stefan Schillhabel: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Dan Smith: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Smith scored the full double.

Seidel Takes from Carrel

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Since re-entering the competition, Charlie Carrel chipped up and was then moved tables to face Mustapha Kanit, Fady Kamar, Steve O'Dwxyer, Erik Seidel, Mikita Badziakouski and Dan Colman. The High Roller regulars saw Carrel open to 9,000 and Seidel called in the big blind.

On the {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, Seidel check-called a bet worth 10,000 and the {4-Spades} turn went check, check. Seidel bet the {A-Diamonds} river for 15,000 and Carrel called, but quickly mucked as soon as he was shown {9-Spades}{5-Spades} for a flush by Seidel.

O'Dwyer currently holds the biggest stack on the table with more than half a million.
